We had a cozy week! After a mad rush in December with the holidays and trips and bopping around everywhere, I feel like we’re really settling into our routine with fun mixed in. It’s kind of hard to describe, but I feel like we’re just hitting a really good groove as a family.
LAST WEEK’S WIN: We started construction on our guest bathroom remodel. It’s almost entirely cosmetic– thankfully no need to do any new plumbing or electrical work, but it’s going to look like a completely different bathroom. For me the real win was seeing the tile floor ripped out. I cannot tell you how much I hated the texture of it. It was like terra cotta, which generally speaking gives me a “nails on chalkboard” feeling. The guest bath is where we bathe Jack and having to sit on the floor was a real test of my sensory issues 🤣 Can’t wait for smooth floors!!
THIS WEEK’S GOAL: Keep on, keeping on. I’ve done such a good job so far of keeping up with my workouts and reading goals. I don’t want to fall off the bandwagon! I think the key has been keeping realistic expectations so I don’t burn out, and instead focusing on small daily goals. It’s been working great and I don’t want to lose it!!
TUESDAY
Gymnastics with Jack and then we had a fun afternoon at home painting and going for a long walk.
WEDNESDAY
Swim class in the morning and then we went to my sister in law’s house so Jack could nap there while our demo started!
Pullover (c/o)
THURSDAY
A daycare day aka a big work day for me.
FRIDAY
Pickleball was canceled due to weather sadly! Ended up just trying to play catch up and get set up before the weekend.
SATURDAY
Jack and I met Stacie for breakfast– it was our first time meeting in real life after following each other for years on Instagram! Then Mike and I went out to celebrate his dinner and Jack had a sleepover with one of his aunts! So fun for everyone.
Necklace (c/o)
SUNDAY
Mike’s birthday brunch at home and then we spent the afternoon with our neighbors!
Similar sweater (sorry mine is old from Tuckernuck)
MONDAY
A casual day. Jack went to daycare and I let myself take the day mostly off– I worked out, got a little work done, brought my laptop in to get fixed, and otherwise relaxed and organized and cleaned the house!
Love all the cozy outfits as winter sets in!

Could you where where your guest room/office mirror is from?
Looks like it’s backordered, but worth the wait! https://rstyle.me/+LOrPmQfVZ8mlxN1k7P08og
Love the green pullover from Wednesday on you!
Just reading about the texture of your old bathroom floor gave me goosebumps – so happy for you that they’re gone forever now!
Loving the Tretorns!
“A daycare day aka a big work day for me.”
and
“Jack went to daycare and I let myself take the day mostly off–”
which one is it? must be nice. this is the most privledged “wealthy white woman” thing I’ve ever read.
I don’t work full time anymore and Monday was a federal holiday. My management team wasn’t working, my husband wasn’t working, and I wasn’t expecting any of my team to work.
I pay for daycare whether or not I send jack in and he LOVES playing with his friends there so it was a win/win for the whole family.
Get a grip. Go touch grass.
We all have very different lives with a mixture of different blessings and challenges. It isn’t cool to put someone else down for appreciating their blessings any more than to put someone down due to their challenges. Kindness Counts.
Love your style posts! I also wear cropped pants a lot but often don’t like bear ankles on a chilly day. What other shoes work that you can wear a higher sock with?
LOVE the phone case! Could you link it?
