DIARY No. 45

Back with another batch of photos from my camera roll! Honestly, it’s been pretty boring around here in a nice way. Not doing much other than working and needlepointing apparently. I was going through my phone and the two most exciting things were the snow day we had this week and all the needlepoint.

DIARY No.45

This relaxing pillow spray was one of the products in the holiday gifting boxes for the L’Occitane campaign I did. I stole it for myself 🙊 and have been using it nightly before going to bed. I do a few spritzes around the room and then lightly mist the pillows. It smells DIVINE!

DIARY No.45

I had completed a bunch of needlepoint canvases for ornaments throughout the year.

But I had put off finishing them into actual ornaments though! I love how they turned out, but next year I’m going to try to be better about finishing as I go so I don’t end up having to spend hours and hours one night doing it. It wasn’t that bad though – I popped on the TV and stood at the kitchen island and just worked away.

Here’s another one I did! My sister in law turned 30 and I knew this would be the perfect gift for her. It’s funny because when I stitched the canvas, I had envisioned a totally different ornament. But then I added the pink outline and it felt so much more fun and festive. Love how it turned out– it may be my most favorite finish I’ve ever done!

This pup. Both Ham and Ted been been so snuggly with the cold weather. It’s so nice! I have been trying to do my French lessons and drink my morning coffee on the couch and welcome the extra snuggles from the pups with open arms.

I FINALLY MADE HOLIDAY MASKS.

Why did it take me so long?! I think it would have helped my holiday spirit had I done it sooner honestly. Here’s the stars fabric and here’s the plaid.

Cozy scene! Mike’s been lighting fires for us almost every night. Totally makes everyday life feel a bit cozier and happier!

Half Baked Harvest's Coconut Chicken Tikka Masala

I cannot recommend Half Baked Harvest’s Coconut Chicken Tikka Masala enough. It is ridiculously easy to make and so, so delicious. I’ve been making bigger batches of the curry to store in the fridge/freezer and then it’s even easier to whip up. HIGHLY recommend– especially if you’re craving something warm and cozy.

SNOW STORM

THIS SNOW STORM!!!

Waking up to all this snow was such a dream. It was perfect. It was so weird because it felt like a special day and I kept having to remind myself that it wasn’t Christmas yet!

worked from the couch by the fire

This was from the snow day too! I worked from the couch by the fire and then I submitted my last campaign draft for 2020. It was such a relief and I even took the afternoon off. I even took a glorious nap 🙏🏻

vintage canvas from the 70s

This canvas was a vintage canvas from the 70s that a blog reader named Marcie had purchased. She sent it to me last year and I had so much fun stitching it up. She even sent this frame! It was such a special thing for her to do that for me and I will cherish it forever!!

I love the way you write and tell stories!

I think there’s a word missing in this sentence: “I cannot recommend Half Baked Harvest’s Coconut Chicken Tikka Masala.”

Have a nice weekend!

I LOVE your ornaments, the champagne bottle is the cutest! I just started a needlepoint project but I think I took on more than I should have, wish I would have started smaller. Live and learn!:-)))

The vintage needlepoint canvas and story really just makes me smile 🙂 I am patiently, not so patiently waiting for a christmas season snow here in Minnesota. I am honestly shocked that we still have no snow this far into December! Happy holidays, Carly!

Lighting the fire even on a weekday feels so cozy. We have been doing this since the beginning of December. We had to cancel our trip to Eurodisney because of Covid and we try to have some “magic” moments at home with a big Christmas tree, fires, napping cats, good chocolates…
