DIARY No. 65

Ugh our last two weeks from this very special trip. Every day seemed to be filled with some sort of magic!

My best friend Nicole and her husband came over from the cape to spend the weekend with us. I have been dying for her to meet Jack and it was everything to see them meet! Jack couldn’t take his eyes off of her. We also had a great time together. It was the perfect weekend weather wise and we filled it with all the activities. Dog walks, cocktails on the beach, big dinner at home (we stayed up far too late), brunch, and a trip to Cisco Brewery.

Island Kitchen invited us to a big brunch and it was delicious. My first time going! They do breakfast, lunch, and dinner and are open year round. The french toast was my fave.

We’ve had such a fun time going to Cisco Brewery. It’s been fairly busy for the off season, but way way way more relaxed than in the summer. (It’s so nice to not feel overwhelmed by the crowds there, ha,)

We’ve been doing so many family walks. My favorite time to go is right before sunset and then kind of transition into our nightly routine once we’re back home. Going to keep this up when we’re back home!

Another new favorite of mine? Lemon Press. It’s. So. Good. I could eat there every meal. I went a bunch of times and got something new off of the menu every time we went. Even if you’re just swinging by for coffee, the “Grey Lady” is the best– a lavender vanilla latte. I will dream of it.

While we did a lot, most of our time was spent like this. Snuggling!

I don’t know how we got so lucky for so many beach days during October. Jack is turning into quite the beach baby! (And it’s the best for us because the ocean waves lull him right to sleep!)

I took a page out of Kelly’s playbook and took myself out on a few “photo walks.” Good way to get some steps in and have a little alone time.

The view from Steps Beach never gets old!

My parents came to visit and unfortunately a huge nor’easter hit Nantucket! We got “lucky” with a bit more sunshine than the forecast called for, but we mostly stayed at the house and hung out, which was actually pretty nice. Lots of time to snuggle with Jack!

We made roasted pumpkin seeds– a favorite holiday treat!

And Mike taught us how to play Rummy500. We played more rounds than I can count– such a fun, simple game.

That snuggling picture of you and Jack deserves to be framed! Captures the times of babyhood.
