When I say that I take a bath every single day, I really do mean it. And this is in addition to taking regular showers. (I also take a shower after I bathe because I think it’s more hygienic.) It has become a saving grace for the winter months and post-workouts. My trainer at the gym has gotten us all hooked on foam rolling, which does wonders for sore muscles, but there is really nothing quite like soaking in a warm tub.
I have a couple favorite bubble baths. The two I use most often are Origins Gloomaway and L’Occitane Lavender Foaming Bath.
Gloomaway has a bright, citrusy scent… perfect for an afternoon soak.
L’Occitane’s Lavender Foaming Bath is definitely my first choice though. It’s so relaxing and I love to use it at the end of the day when I want to unwind. I give the product as gifts all the time too! Definitely a crowd pleaser.
I prefer a bubble bath over a bath bomb, but f I get a bath bomb as a gift, I’m definitely going to use it. I just think they can be kind of expensive for a one-time use. And I’ve used bath bombs that have destroyed my tub. One time I unknowingly used a charcoal one. It looked light grey, not dark at all, but the second it plopped into the tub, it turned into a DARK black. There is something so disturbing about taking a bath in black water hahaha. It also took a whole magic eraser to get my tub back to white when it was all said and done!
Would love to know if you have a favorite bubble bath or product… I’m always down to trying new things!
I am a huge fan of Bath and Body Works “Happiness” bath soap! It’s amazing
What a gorgeous bathroom! I love baths too. My favorite is the Whole Foods lavender bubble bath. I highly recommend it! Also, the bath salts smell good too.

I was never a bath person until recently but now I love them! I like using bath salts (I usually just get them from Whole Foods) or I will add a few drops of essential oils to the water. Molton Brown also has great bath products that I love!

Love this Carly! I never take bathes for the very reason you just shared about the bath bomb. Do you have any suggestions for how to clean up afterwords?

I need to take more baths! You’ve convinced me!
The Champagne Edit
The Gloomaway sounds JUST like my type of thing – I love anything citrus!! Ugh, wish I had a bathtub so bad now! 🙁

I love using bath salts. I usually try to find them at TJ Maxx or Marshalls as they are good products at cheap prices!

I love taking baths but it’s been so long since I took one – I’m skeeved out by using my tub in my apartment. Even after deep cleanings, it still doesn’t *look* clean. Bummer.
I do like bath bombs, though! But you’re so right about them dyeing the tub!
It might sound super weird, but try mixing enough white vinegar and baking soda together to make a paste, then apply the paste to the stains. Let it sit for a few minutes, then give it a scrub with a damp cloth before rinsing. However, if you have any gluten sensitivity, don’t clean with vinegar. 🙂
I use Dr. Teal’s Pure Epsom Salt Soaking Solution in the lavender scent every time I take a bath. Also great for sore muscles and smells AMAZING.
Anything from Lush in their rose scent is the best. The rose jam body wash is amazing but only out at certain times. So I get the rose jam bubble bar and use half of it at a time. It turns the water a pretty pink, has the best smell, and gives a little bubbles! I found using the whole thing at once was wayyyyy to much bubbles for just a normal bath. I can’t wait to try your lavender bubble bath!
I love bubble baths! I have one almost every day using Avon Senses Sensitive Skin Bubble Bath.
I love the Rocky Mountain Soap Co.’s bubble baths and bath salts (they have a Root Beer bubble bath in their kids’ line that’s super fun for everyone), ALL the ‘Alberta’ scented products from O’Canada Soapworks (fir, pine, sweetgrass, and sage = divine), and All Things Jill’s Sunflower Citrus Bath Foam (you can order it online at http://www.the-apothecary.ca). I also really like the Reiki charged candles from Crystal Journey!
I love taking baths to destress! I’ve started doing a face mask while I’m relaxing; it’s the best form of multitasking 🙂
Having recently moved to a new apartment with no bathtub, only a shower, I’m super jealous of this. And your photo is beautiful!

Lush makes some of the BEST products!!! I’ve loved everything I’ve tried from their bombs to facials! Love reading your posts!
That bathtub is gorgeous! I will have to check out these bath products!

If you’re looking for something to help your muscles recover faster, I would highly highly recommend lavender Epsom salt. The lavender relaxes you for bed, and Epsom salt is great for sore muscles and anxiety. It’s like a Gatorade and magnesium soak lol.
Hi Carly
Use only sea salt. It’s magic for skin.
I love hearing that someone else LOVES taking baths! They truly are so relaxing, and I think we would all be a lot less stressed if people took baths more often. I take one every night and would not have it any other way!
I like using Neutrogena’s Rainbath as bubble bath. it’s not super foamy but it smells wonderful.
Baths are so therapeutic. One every day sounds so nice, like the Japanese! I used to shower after baths too until I lived in Japan. My Japanese co-worker looked at me like “huh??” when I told her I didn’t shower before the bath, and I realized, yeah, you kind of are marinating in your own yuck. And they have the onsen or natural hot baths and everyone showers/thoroughly cleans themselves before entering, you should go, you’d love it I think! (they’re usually in the mountains and outdoors, so good) Long comment, anyway, I love epsom salt for soothing relief. L’Occitane’s bath bomb must smell heavenly
Have you ever tried Epsom Salt in your bath?? Best thing ever and helps with sore muscles. Dr. Teals has a lavender scented Epsom bath salt that is amazing – great after a tough workout! This was my saving grace when I trained for my first marathon last year.
I’m a little late to the game here but I love to use Lush’s Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner. I put it on after my bath as I wait for the tub to drain and then do a quick rinse. It smells heavenly and is a miracle on my dry skin.
Carly, I’m sorry, I like your blog, but I have to say this: taking a bath + shower everyday is REALLY not environmentally friendly. I’m not saying don’t take baths at all but does it need to be a daily thing? Please just think about this and the example you set for your readers…
Here is a good article on the subject if you’d like to read it: https://grist.org/living/baths-vs-showers-an-eco-smackdown/
That being said, I really like your blog 🙂
Bath and Body Works has some great aromatherapy bubble bath liquid that is super relaxing. I love their stress relief and sleep scents, because they are perfect after a long day!
