I attended a fun event with Nordstrom’s 1901 brand a few weeks ago. I got to meet some of the team behind the brand, which is always such a treat as a blogger. We got a sneak peek of what’s to come (fall styles look amazing), but I wanted to share the skirt I wore before summer is really gone.
For the evening event, I wore it with these scalloped heels and a navy tank top. It was perfect for the hot weather and sailboat venue. For the post, though, I’m sharing a good daytime, slightly work(ish) look. The skirt is so flattering and I’m obsessed with the length; it hits higher on the waist and falls just above the knees.
I’m also a big fan of the faux wrap. It makes it so much easier, not to mention practical, to wear. Instead of being an actual wrap, it zips up the side and you can tie the bow to hide the zipper.
I can’t for the life of me figure out why J. Crew doesn’t keep this shirt in stock year round. It’s a staple for me. If you haven’t tried “The Shirt” by Rochelle Behrens, you might like that as an alternative… it has hidden buttons to keep the shirt from gaping, giving you an extra tailored fit.

So in love how you styled your gingham skirt!

That skirt is darling on you, I love the bow tied at the hip. I’m a big fan of the 1901 brand, they put out so many great shirt dresses this summer and I can’t wait to see what they have in store for fall!

Such cute outfit! Gingham is one of my favorite prints to wear and I always try to find ways to incorporate it year round. that skirt would be super cute with a dark sweater as the temps cool.

This is such a great transition outfit! It’s still so hot out but doesn’t “feel” like summer anymore- I love pieces that can still be worn well into the fall, like this gingham skirt!

Your outfit is so cute!
Huge fan of the 1901 line!! I just posted about a skirt that I bought from it. How cool that you got to meet their team!
Love this look! I totally agree that stores need to carry certain pieces all the time. If they have a best seller they need to just keep making it!
You look beautiful Carly, I love a good piece of gingham in my closet and you styled this one perfectly. Also, I love your bag, so chic <3

Such a cute skirt! You always look so put together in button down shirts – I always feel a little dowdy! Maybe I need to try the J Crew one.
This outfit is soo pretty on you Carly, one of my favorite looks you have featured lately! I really want to try out Nordstrom’s 1901 line, every piece is so cute!
