I received some questions about this nap dress after I shared it, so I thought I would add more thoughts. I think nap dresses tend to run a little big, so if you’re in between two sizes, I would go down. With this one, the smocking is much tighter due to the nature of the embroidery detailing I think, so just something to keep in mind. (I’m still wearing my normal nap dress size, even while pregnant, and find that I like the more snug smocking for the extra support!) It also has pockets, too.
I’m going to try the ribbon nap dress because I think it’ll be an easy dress to wear throughout fall and if I wasn’t pregnant, I think I would also try the shorter Vivi dress.
Hi Carly, what do you do to keep the shoulder frill on Ellies looking nice (not crazy)? After laundering, I can’t figure out what to do to keep them looking neat. Thanks!
I usually steam them and use my fingers while they’re still hot/damp to press into place.
(You can also starch + iron!)
