Yesterday I did a second post with Factory’s plaid finds and then, naturally, J. Crew refreshed their website at some point during the day and they also released their tartans and plaids. With November officially starting this weekend, I’ll probably whip out my tartans to make this season feel special. It’s going to be a weird holiday season, for sure, and if wearing tartan nearly every day helps, I’m going to do it! 💃🏻
(Most of the new items are 40% off too right now!)
Admittedly I went a little overboard. I planned on getting one or two pieces and ended up with more, but took advantage of the sale. I got this ruffle blouse (pictured above) and it’s probably what I’m most excited for. I think it’ll look cute with jeans, black pants, and dressed up with a skirt! I also got this ruffle neck black sweater and this pull on black skirt. I couldn’t resist two headbands two: another plaid and this adorable pearl one!
PS Also wanted to highlight that the sweater blazer is 40% off right now and J. Crew launched a couple of women’s fair isle sweaters!!
Tartan nap dresses from Hill House Home come out today at noon FYI 🙂
Thank you Carly & Kate for sharing the love of tartan. I’m always sad that I can’t wear it much where I live because the weather doesn’t get cold– but those nap dresses- oh my– I just may have to get one.
I tried googling, but am still confused – what exactly is the difference between tartan and plaid? I am not quite as much of a fashionista as you are
Here’s a good summary! https://clan.com/blog/plaid-vs-tartan-vs-check-whats-the-difference
thanks! so it sounds like technically we are wearing plaids, not tartans
Well, a lot of them are still tartans. Like the Stewart tartan, for example!
I love the tartan pajamas & socks!

I bought the Sophie sweater blazer per your reco and love it! My only complaint is the sleeves are a little short, but it’s a really high quality sweater and very chic! Instantly dresses up any outfit. Now I’m just debating which color to get next. 😂
I love that sweater blazer! I cuff the sleeves to make the length more intentional, but it’s also a fun look to have a long-sleeved button-up peeking through at the bottom as well. I think I have four colors now, it’s kind of a problem… Haha
Gosh I love all the picks you selected! But especially the blouse of course. Tartan is a staple for my winter wardrobe. I always have a good tartan scarf on hand!
Have an awesome weekend Carly 🙂
