I wanted to hop over here really quick for a bonus post today about the Lake Pajamas sale. This is their big sale of the year and the perfect time to stock up on the comfiest PJs. I’ll also answer some of the most commonly asked questions I’ve been getting in Instagram DMs.
LAKE PAJAMAS SALE
ARE LAKE PAJAMAS WORTH IT?
To me, yes. I love fancy pajamas and always go to bed at night wearing a matching set of pajamas. They are incredibly, incredibly soft. The pima cotton makes it worth it to me. I am usually freezing cold when I go to bed and then get super hot while sleeping and then cold again in the morning and I am most comfortable in the pima cotton throughout the night.
ARE THEY FLATTERING?
So… I’m going to be honest. They are cute, but I wouldn’t say they’re the sexiest pajamas you’re going to wear. I wish the neckline wasn’t as much of a scoop (I think a crewneck would be more flattering), but this does not stop me from wearing them night after night.
WHAT SIZE SHOULD I GET?
I always buy a size up from my usual size. I’d get an XS in pajamas from J. Crew and I buy Small from Lake Pajamas as a reference. They’re not super fitting to begin with so you can get away with a bigger size and then you don’t have to worry about them shrinking or being too small.
HOW DO YOU WASH THEM?
I throw them into the wash with hot water and dry on full blast. I’ve never had a problem! One time a hot pink sports bra turned a section of my pants a little pink, but I soaked with some OxyClean and it came right out. I’m not a fan of having to baby my clothing, though if you have the time to line dry, it’s probably better for the integrity of the clothing. They remain as soft as comfy as the first day I bought them!
WHAT STYLE SHOULD I BUY?
I think in order of preference: long/long, long/short, and then short/short.
They look so comfy! I hope they’ll ship to Europe!
Can you share a post on how you’ve maintained your anti-racism work during Q4 when work is the busiest? This seems like a particularly good opportunity to be selective about partnerships based on the principles you outlined, as well as lifting up Black creators.
Having conversations with brands about their inclusion, continuing to read and promote books written by POC and about racism, including brands and companies from businesses owned by Black people (mostly women). And continuing to support non-profits benefitting Black women- I’ve been channeling my energy and money into Black Girl Ventures and I’ve been really excited to see brands I work with do the same (Tuckernuck and Equilibria).
I outlined my action plan here. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to do everything due to covid but I volunteer at my local food bank which serves underserved members of our community.

Here’s my action plan 🥰
Do you size up for the dress as well, or would you take your normal size in that? I love it, but it’s final sale so I’d hate to get the wrong size.
Normal size for the dress! I think it’s a forgiving fit!
Carly…you look absolutely radiant. I have to say your cute little pup in some of the pictures looking up at you is just precious!. Happy Thanksgiving on your first year as Mrs. Riordan!
These are the cutest pajamas! They look so soft and cozy.
