Ugh, I’m just not ready for summer to end. I know we still technically have a few more weeks, but Labor Day always does bring a sense of closure of the season. We are diving into our new schedule starting Tuesday and the pond is closing for the season, so I know it’ll really hit us…
With that said, I’m considering this late summer instead of early fall. Not only do I want to wear my summer dresses still, but it’s a bit of a necessity because we’ve been having heat wave after heat wave. I’ve been mixing in some of my warmer brown pieces into my wardrobe instead of the bright whites of high summer. (I do retire my beloved Jack Rogers after Labor Day… I’m fine wearing white jeans year round but feel weird about white shoes. Don’t know why!)
I wanted to share these photos of this dress because it’s on major sale this weekend. And it’s one of those perfect sundresses that transition well for late summer.
I also can’t recommend these sandals enough! They’re chic and comfortable and require zero break in time. I went up 1/2 size and they fit perfectly. I’m not sure I would wear them to walk ten miles while touring Europe, but they are a great everyday wear-all-day sandal. And they look great with dresses and casual jeans with a tee.
For sizing, I got my usual size. It’s fairly forgiving though with the elastic waist, so I wouldn’t fret too much. I think you could easily make your regular size or next size up work and have a similar look since it’s looser on top and has a flowy skirt.
