LINEN PANTS THREE WAYS

Linen is my go-to fabric during the summer months, and it also happens to be an essential part of the coastal grandmother wardrobe. Since it seems to be the trend of the summer, I wanted to share three ways to style a pair of white linen pants. Although I typically am not one for following trends, I will always make room for a trend that makes you feel like the main character of a Nancy Meyers film.

BUTTON UP // LINEN PANTS // STRAW TOTE // BLUE LINEN MULES

What I love about coastal grandmother inspired outfits is how effortlessly put together they look. An oversized striped button-up is a simple way to dress up a pair of linen pants for an everyday uniform. Style with mules and a straw basket tote for the perfect summer look fit for a trip to the farmers market or dinner al fresco.

SUNGLASSES // BUCKET HAT // SWEATER // LINEN PANTS // SANDALS

One of my favorite summer traditions is taking a sunset stroll after dinner on vacation. It’s honestly my ideal way to wind down and end the day. Since It’s usually a little chillier during the evening at the beach, tossing on a cozy sweater with linen pants is a great outfit choice. Of course, this coastal grandmother look wouldn’t be complete without a canvas bucket hat.

SWIMSUIT // SUNHAT // LINEN PANTS // CANVAS TOTE // WHITE SLIDES

Linen pants also make a great coverup for a day at the beach or pool. They’re perfect to pop on over a one-piece swimsuit for an afternoon lunch run but light enough to wear laying out in the sun when you want a little more coverage. Style this pool day outfit with a beach bag (I love this canvas tote), slides, and a hat. This straw hat is under $35 and has a cute blue and white striped ribbon.

You should be lauded for your strong sense of self. Many older mothers purposely try to appear younger, and here you are choosing a more matronly “Grandmother” style wardrobe, and showcasing your grey hair. Good for you for embracing the aging process!

My eternal question with this trend – do coastal grandmas not sweat? orrrr

I would DIE in a long sleeve anything (let alone a full sweater) in the summer in DC! I know linen is slightly more breathable than other fabrics but still.

Absolutely love this!! I got a pair of Forrest green linen pants from ll bean recently (highly recommend their linen pants!!), so I cannot wait to recreate these. My husband and I are finally going on a vacation to kennebunkport and this will be the perfect place to recreate these outfits.
