I LOVE the Fourth of July. It has a pretty special place in my heart because we used to spend the holiday with a week vacation at my grandparent’s house on Oak Island in North Carolina. That week was always the highlight of our summer. The entire family would spend hours at the beach, participate in a talent show after months of preparation, camp out on the deck for hours every night. There were nightly sparklers, every red/white/blue prop the party store offered, and not a care in the world. Those trips are some of my favorite childhood, and certainly family, memories.
I’m partnering with Macy’s on this post for their Fourth of July event– you don’t want to miss it! Get 20% off with code “FOURTH” at checkout and receive free shipping on orders over $49 through July 8th. Well, guys, I am obsessed with this outfit and there’s still time to get your order in before the big day. It’s actually mostly comprised of items that I already own but worn in a new way.
As far as I’m concerned, this sweater is a summer staple. I have the cream one and find myself packing it for nearly every trip I go on during the summer. Even if it’s warm during the day, cooler nights necessitate a sweater. The cream is so pretty and looks great with denim and the navy version would look amazing with white jeans. (I’d recommend sizing up because it’s a little boxier/short. I’m wearing the size small.)
I usually wear mine with just denim shorts, but at the last minute went with a denim skirt! While mine is an older style, I found a lookalike at Macy’s.
Bah! How cute is this circle bag?! It is the absolute perfect size for essentials and the red serves as a great pop of color for summer outfits. (It also comes in black, brown, and cream.)
I have yet to meet a straw hat that I didn’t love. If you have a big head like yours truly, you’ll be happy to hear that this one is adjustable! (Honestly, it’d also work for smaller heads because it’s adjustable too!) It’s in between floppy and structured and can be “molded” into a few different shapes, so you can wear it straight out or curl the rim a bit. It’s also designed as a packable hat, which means it’s great to bring on trips and you don’t have to worry about it get squished in the back of your car or under the seat in front of you. Plus there’s a bow, duh.
These shoes continue to be my go-to this summer. Seriously can’t recommend them enough!

Hey Carly! LOVE the outfit!! I actually just tried to buy the sweater, but it says the promo code “FOURTH” does not apply to the item in my bag (i.e. just the sweater). Is this sale not site wide? Thanks!!
Hmmm! I didn’t think it was excluded! I will email the team to inquire!
This outfit is so perfect for the Fourth! Each piece is so timeless too!
