Even though I don’t go into an office every day, my mornings can get a little hectic. Especially when I have a big to-do list for the day, I try to establish a good routine in the morning because it sets me up for a full day of success. Taking the time to start the day off on the right foot pays off big time in the long run.
I’m partnering with Quaker on this post to show my ideal morning routine for a busy day.
Like how a good day starts with a good morning, I think the best mornings actually start the night before. I try to get everything prepped for the next day before I go to bed. It helps to get a few things off the to-do list before I even wake up. I tidy up my apartment and get my work all organized. I make sure my technology is plugged in, so I’ll have a full charge and… get my breakfast prepared and ready to go. It’s one less thing to think about in the morning.
When I tried Quaker Overnight Oats cups earlier this summer, I knew they would become a regular part of my morning routine. Because I prep the cup at night to let the oats cold-steep overnight, they help keep my mornings free of extra hassle.
The experts at Quaker thoughtfully created the single serve containers to be optimized for taste and nutrition. (They’ve been in the oats business for 140 years, so they know their stuff!) With no artificial flavors or added colors and 100% whole grain oats (+ other grains), the cups are a nutritious choice for breakfast.
And easy to prepare, so it’s a win/win.
All you have to do is add milk to the fill line, stir to combine, and then place in the refrigerator to cold-steep overnight.
When you wake up, the Overnight Oats are fully steeped and ready to be enjoyed! Here’s the breakdown of my morning routine:
I roll out of bed and hop in the shower. I make coffee and feed the dogs before doing my makeup and hair.
Then it’s the dogs favorite part of their morning: their walk! When we’re walking, Teddy and Hamilton run the show. Sometimes they’re ready to go back inside after a quick spin and other times they dictate an extra lap (or two).
Once the pups have had their walk, they luckily get to curl back up and snooze through the morning while I get the rest of my day started.
After a ten minute meditation, I grab my coffee and breakfast and get to work.
I swear by having oatmeal in the morning. It helps me stay full through my busiest morning. I love how great these Overnight Oats taste too. There are four flavors, and I love them all; I’m unable to choose a favorite! They’re easy to eat at my desk, which I appreciate for those mornings when I immediately hop on my computer and get straight to work.

I love overnight oats! They’re so great for grab and go mornings, especially when I have no time to prepare anything or if I’m not prioritising my breakfast! Lovely post as always Carly!
I hope you have a great Sunday!

Love the overnight oats idea, I would like to try them with almond milk too. And morning routines really make a difference! I’ve been studying at home all summer and it definitely helps my motivation if I start the morning well. Hope you’re having a great time with your family Carly!
I was just about to ask if non-dairy milk would work! 🙂 Thanks for sharing that it does!
I love these Quaker overnight oats!! I picked up a few after you last post. I’m pretty late to the overnight oats game but I love these. I do wish their caps were spill proof, they are a little harder to pack on the go. Thanks for your post I love hearing about morning routines.
I really like the sound of the overnight oats! Especially if I have a hectic day ahead!

I love reading about morning routines, especially because I can’t seem to find one that works for me. I love the idea of prepping breakfast the night before. Thanks!
