Casual

Navy & White

I’m very much a “jeans” kind of girl. I know there are girls out there who avoid denim, but I could honestly live in a great pair of jeans for the rest of my life and be one happy lady. I was pretty content with my collection of jeans I had and wasn’t planning on buying a new pair. (Although, I am kind of curious to try a cropped wide leg– let me know if you have any favorites!) Despite my plans to not buy a new pair, I did when I saw this wash on J. Crew’s website. I wasn’t sure that I’d like the mullet hem all that much, but I had a feeling the wash would be perfect for summer months. (I am picky about winter vs. summer denim!)

The day the new jeans came in the mail, I tried them on and loved them. But I considered returning them because I didn’t need a new pair. That night though I went to sit on the couch and the leg of my jeans tore right open! I’m talking a three-inch tear right across my thigh. I couldn’t stop laughing. (Side note, my trainer recommended that I start doing protein shakes and it’s definitely working. I am starting to see a difference in my muscle tone and I totally blame my quads for the ripping of the jeans.)

Anyway, I was glad I didn’t return the jeans!

Tuckernuck Top

I knew I had to have this top when I saw it. I’m all about a crisp white blouse on a warm day. This one is super flowy and looks great with skinny jeans to balance it out. I love the way it goes with blue denim and I even wore it with jeans this past weekend to a brunch event.

The shirt is on pre-order because it sold out the first round. If you want it, I highly recommend pre-ordering it because I don’t think it’s going to last long again!

Perfect Wash Jeans

This wicker bag was my most used bag last summer and I have a feeling this year will be no different. I just love the shape and I always get a bunch of compliments.

Scalloped Sandals

Also obsessed with these scalloped sandals still. Such a good find if you’re in the market for a low heeled sandal.

No can do on the mullet hem. I think in a year or two we’re going to look back and be like what?

Love the jeans!! Do you mind sharing what protein shake you use? I have trouble finding one that tastes decent and is still “good” for me. Thanks!

I love this outfit! I think there is absolutely nothing wrong with jeans. I also love that you post practical outfits unlike many other bloggers. I would definitely wear this outfit to lunch or dinner with friends or family.

I have been reading for years and never comment, but this is seriously my favorite look of yours of ALL TIME and I had to say something. Love it!!!

Runs true to size, but size up for broad shoulders. It’s very flowy so you can get away with a larger size, but the way the panel is seen you might want more room.

Hey Carly!
Love the whole look! Are the jeans high-waisted? I have a longer torso, so for blouses that’s a must!
Thanks,
Brynna

Yes!!! I have a long torso too. These are the 9inch rise. A MUST for tips like these!

Just a note to say that I’ve noticed that your style/content has shifted since the rebrand and I am LOVING it. Definitely more mature which I think is reflective of the fact that you are no longer a college gal (and maybe also moving somewhat away from that younger target audience?) You also seem very comfortable in your skin these days which is fabulous. Anyway, just wanted to drop a line to tell you how much I love the re-brand. Looking forward to continuing to follow along 🙂

As a lover of all things blue and white, I love this look! But, I just can’t get behind the mullet hem jeans! In fact, I didn’t know they were even called mullet hemmed until this post-but that seals the deal for me, haha!
