If you follow me on Instagram, you may have noticed that I’m now @carly! Very excited about having my actual name as the handle. However, don’t read too much into it. It might have been one of the most impulsive things I’ve done in my blog’s history. But the opportunity was there… and I couldn’t not take it.
As big as I am on planning an executing a proper game plan, I also know that there are times when you have to throw the plans into the wind and just go with the flow. Hopefully… this is one of those times. Pretty exciting day. (Even though I was riding an insane adrenaline high making the switch and felt like I was going to throw up the whole time, ha.)
If you saw it and were worried that it meant my blogging days were over or some huge life change was around the corner… nope. Still the same old me, just a new Instagram name.
Shakespeare said it best: A rose by any other name would smell as sweet.

a little bit of life, a little bit of style, and everything in between.
That's awesome that the name opportunity was there! I actually just switched my instagram name too how funny.
how cool is that .gif and congrats, always exciting to get your first name on social media 🙂
Ahh I love the quote you included, it's so true! And congrats on your new name 🙂

I was a bit confused at first when I saw the change on my Instagram. I'm glad you got a little bit of a change and I hope everything else goes smoothly.
Although at first I wasn't a fan, I'm loving the new handle! So much easier to type in when I need some College Prepster inspiration in my life!
I would have jumped on it too! It's very rare that your first name is available anywhere on social media, unless you're an early adopter. I'm glad I made the choice a while back to just use a variation of my name as my "social media brand". 🙂

My instagram (and Twitter) name is ManaSmith86 but if I could have had just Mana I would have taken it. I think it's good to use your name on your social media, because A. it makes it feel more personal, like a mini note or something and B. should you ever change the name from the college prepster for any reason, you don't have to fuss with your social media.
