I am not great at decorating or anything design related. It takes me forever to put rooms together. I only just felt like my Connecticut apartment looked okay right before I moved!
There is a lot of space in my Hoboken apartment to decorate and, I don’t know, I think I’m kind of paralyzed with indecision. It’s like I want something to look a certain way, but getting to that point seems impossible. (Or at least not doable with me at the helm.)
HomeGoods partnered with me earlier this summer and it was the exact jumpstart I needed to get my butt into gear. I figured my office was a good place to start as it’s where I spend the majority of my day. It’s not perfect, but it’s really working for me right now! It’s a great space, albeit narrow (VERY narrow) so I had to utilize every single inch.
Maybe I’ll get around to finishing the rest of the apartment… 😬
In the video I say where things are from… Some things that are still available:
Let me know if you want to know where something is from. I’ll do my best to let you know, but just as a warning a lot of things are old because I’ve had them for years!
I wish I had a home office like yours, Carly! It looks so good! 🙂

Hi, You decorate your office is beautiful way. I love your decoration and create a beautiful place.
I so adored seeing a tour of your office. Everything is perfectly you! I think I recall you posting (some time ago) that you were considering putting up wallpaper– do you think that’s still in the future?
Those watercolor prints are gorgeous. I’m not great at decorating either. I have a general idea of what I want the space to look like in my head, but I have a hard time knowing if separate pieces will look good together. I’m moving in a month and I decided to try out Wayfair’s design services to pick things out/design my living room and dining room, so I’m hoping that goes well.
Cheers,

Such a cute office space! I like that you have it set up for dual purposes-a hang out space as well as work space.
I still have to borrow my husband’s working place and my daughter’s pencils))). Dreaming one day to decorate a “special for me” place!
I am the complete opposite with decorating! Within a week of moving to a new place, everything has to be done and decorated!! I love the contrast of the whites, dark wood, and navy- it’s so classic and timeless!

Love your office!
Where is the dog bed from?
I love how cozy and classic it is! Plus, all that natural light you’re working in front of! x

Love what you did with the office! My husband and I just moved from 850 square feet into a brand new 2300 square foot townhouse and this: “It’s like I want something to look a certain way, but getting to that point seems impossible” Is all me!! I’m so glad I’m not the only one. I know exactly how I want everything to look, but how do I get there!?
Omg your office is so adorable! Love it!
The Champagne Edit
Starting off your post with a negative sentence about your self is sad & unnecessary! 🙂 The place looks fantastic!
I love your mix of style and functionality! When decorating my home I am always mindful of making things look homey while still having style throughout. You have the perfect mix in your office 🙂 Can’t wait to see the rest of your apartment tour once you’re done!
Best,
Carrie
This turned out so good! I love the boxwood and the color of your desk and hardwood floors. Fantastic! I’ve been trying to get ours to that color!
