Olive You

I have been reaching for olive pieces over and over again. This is that super awkward time when it’s too warm for true fall clothes and too late in the summer to pull off sundresses.

Enter: anything olive green. The best way to look seasonally appropriate. I also think that olive green is a universally flattering color.

Kate Spade Broome Street

Kate Spade recently sent me this olive dress, and I love it! I’m a sucker for a shirtdress, but almost all of the ones I have are blue and/or white. This one is so fun with the ruffle detailing. It can be worn with or without the belt, but I think it’s most flattering cinched at the waist.

Mark and Graham Camera Bag

I am pretty sad that my wicker bags have to be put away until next summer. In the meantime, I’ve been taking this little camera bag out more and more. It’s a much warmer brown than I was expecting and I love it. There are two zippered pockets making organization a breeze too.

So who else is as in love with green as I am right now?!

Hi, Carly!
I LOVE your blog! I’m thinking of starting my own blog because I love photography and I’ve always loved choosing interesting clothing pieces and making outfits! I’d loooove to make one, but I’m new at my school (I’m in high school) and I’m worried people might make fun of me. Can you give me some tips?

Olive IS so incredibly flattering. I wear it year round and I love it paired with navy (my favorite color). This dress is sharp!

Quick question about the adorable camera bag – is it one large compartment with step zippers or two separate compartments? I’m looking for a new smaller crossbody to use in vacations. I just need to carry the basics (phone, small wallet, sunglasses) and then my small Canon DSLR camera.

That dress looks so good on you and so bad on the J Crew website! I would never have even considered it if I only saw the model photograph.
