ON MY RADAR 11.3.23

I am having a little bit of a “Halloween Hangover” mixed with “Holiday Dread.” Dread maybe isn’t the right word. But I’m almost in denial that it’s November and Thanksgiving is around the corner and then Christmas will be here before we know it…. Work is kicking up and so is this pregnancy and I’m also wanting to make the holidays extra special for Jack since he’s fully understanding holiday excitement now. Just a whole mix of emotions!!!

Here’s what has been on my radar this week:

ONE // Sean Symington Interior Design

love this profile on interior designer Sean Symington. JUST WOW! Every single room he touches is better than the last– can’t pick a favorite but certainly walked away with a lot of inspiration. Classic and colorful with a touch of whimsy!

TWO // Wool Wrap

While on the hunt for some cold weather bump-friendly outerwear options, I stumbled on this wool wrap. It’s a gorgeous cape with great detailing and a fraction of the cost of a luxury designer style. The scarf is removable and it looks cute buttoned up or open, too. I tried it on with a few outfits and really just love how casual and easy it is going to be to throw on as the temperatures dip. (And if you’re someone who runs very hot, as I am right now during this pregnancy, I love that I can be warm but not, like, too warm.)

THREE // Balloon Garland Tutorial

For the Halloween party that we threw last week, I wanted to do a cute balloon arch. I tried to hire someone originally but got ghosted. I made a balloon arch for Jack’s first birthday and, while it wasn’t exactly hard, it wasn’t exactly enjoyable either. This tutorial for balloon garland was on my TikTok FYP and wow it couldn’t have come at a better time. I followed her method and couldn’t believe how much easier it was. I had the entire arch done in fifty seven minutes. I think there were over 100 balloons in the kit!!!! Under one hour?!?! Not bad.

FOUR // J. Crew Holiday New Arrivals

I can’t wear too many of the holiday styles from J. Crew right now because of my bump, but that’s not stopping me from lusting over everything on their site. I am just such a sucker for the reds and tartans and fair isle! I’m trying this red sweater and bought these red bow shoes. If you are looking for something wintery, this fair isle half zip is gorgeous!

FIVE // Books, Beach, and Beyond

If you’re in the market for a great podcast to binge, I highly recommend “Books, Beach, and Beyond” from Elin Hilderbrand and Tim Talks Books.  I sadly finished all the episodes and I wish I had more to listen to!! It is a great podcast if you are an avid reader and/or want to learn more about the publishing world. Because Elin is Elin, they have been able to score interviews with some of the biggest authors and the interviews go beyond surface level. I just listened to their season finale with Colleen Hoover and was blown away. Loved learning more about her journey– it’s so unconventional and will 100% leave you feeling inspired.

Oh my. That designer is perfect. And I have the “dread” feeling too, that you described.
