This week has been a whirlwind! Kind of a bit of everything. From hitting a deadline five days early to getting sick again from pregnancy. I’m relieved re: the deadline and hopeful that the getting sick was just a fluke. I have been trying to get ahead of schedule work-wise so I can take some good time off while in Florida with my family. This usually adds extra stress to my plate but I think I’m just SO excited that I’ve actually felt completely motivated with zero sense of being overwhelmed. (Grateful for it.)
ON MY RADAR 4.23.21
Here’s what has been on my radar this week:
ONE // There’s a Name for the Blah You’re Feeling: It’s Called Languishing
This is such an interesting article that I think a lot of you can appreciate. I think this quote from the article sums it up quickly: “It wasn’t burnout — we still had energy. It wasn’t depression — we didn’t feel hopeless. We just felt somewhat joyless and aimless. It turns out there’s a name for that: languishing.” Definitely give it a read if you’re just feeling kind of “blah” right now.
TWO // Hatch Collection’s Carolina Dress
I shared this in yesterday’s dress round up, but it’s so cute I had to highlight it again. I’ve been getting a ton of DMs about maternity and nursing friendly dresses. As far as maternity goes, I’m figuring it as I go along. (I will admit it has been so much harder to find clothes that I feel good in than I expected.) And I haven’t had to deal with the nursing styles yet, so not sure on that front. BUT, I do know that this dress looks beautiful. I ordered it immediately and I am crossing my fingers it feels as dreamy on as it looks!
THREE // Ellie Goldstein’s Guide to Clear Skin and Confidence
I love watching Vogue’s “Beauty Secrets” series on Youtube. The latest video features British model Ellie Goldstein’s routine. Loved to see it! It’s one part beauty routine and one part inner-confidence hype speech– so inspiring.
FOUR // Blue Woven Bag
While in the mall making a return last week, I saw this gorgeous bag in the window of Club Monaco. (Carly, repeat after me: “You do not need another woven bag….”) It’s listed as “pale blue,” but I swear in person it leans a bit more periwinkle– not quite blue and not quite lavender. The bag is also just so cute and petite. Just loved it.
FIVE // Needlework Cakes
A few people sent me this video of a cross stitch cake design. I…. have no words for how stunning this is!!! It has to take forever to follow the cross stitch pattern and turn it into a beautiful cake. JUST WOW.
Seraphine has nice maternity styles! Kate Middleton wore them. Quality is good too
I’ve found nursing specific clothes are ugly and hard to find. Best to wear wrap dresses, tops or camis underneath.
Thank you for the information and all the best for your growing family!
Hope you feel better soon so you can enjoy your trip home! Have a great weekend!
