On My Radar

Hands down, the highlight of my week was Monday! A student from Bronxville High School asked if I wanted to participate in their career day. I try my best to make these things work with my schedule. I almost had a traveling conflict, but that ended up getting canceled. I’m so glad. The students were great. It can be a challenge to speak to high schoolers for so many reasons because they totally size you up the second you walk into room! I loved these kids and a few girls got out of their session to come sit in mine.

After meeting some readers and fans, the next best part was getting to hear Casey Neistat speak. Simply put, I love him. 😉

KJP Watch

Here’s what was on my radar this week:

ONE // KJP Watches

WOO! KJP launched a new line of watches. I got a sneak peek at them at the beginning of the year and could not wait for mine to arrive. The detailing is out of this world. A little anchor hour hand and the arrow minute hand make me so happy! PS “CarlyKJP” at checkout gets you 15% off your watch!

TWO // LPQ’s Zucchini Noodle Pad Thai

No joke, Le Pain Quotidien’s Zucchini Noodle Pad Thai is the best thing I’ve ever had. If you live near an LPQ, you need to go. I went with my friend last week for a girls’ date and it was delicious. I think it tastes better if you eat it in the restaurant but still works if you get it to go. Just make sure you mix everything up well when you get home. It’s delicious!

THREE // Bow Chair

Does anyone need a new chair for a home office or vanity? I’m obsessed with this bow chair!

FOUR // Bobbi Brown’s New Hotel

Bobbi Brown and her husband are opening a new hotel in New Jersey. My mom and I are both obsessed with her. The hotel looks gorgeous. I’d definitely love to stay there. They just hosted a press preview and I’ve been stalking the articles for all the details!

FIVE // Bow Sleeve Sweater

Okay, so technically my spending freeze is over because it’s February. But I’m still trying to spend less and buy way less frequently. (Nothing like getting ready to move to a different state to make you realize how much stuff you have and don’t need.) That said, I am LOVING this sweater from Draper James. The bows on the sleeves are so perfect.

SIX // Molly’s Game

With Movie Pass, I have been going to see all the movies. I don’t know if going to the movies counts as a hobby or not, but I would certainly put it at the top of my list of things I enjoy. Of all the movies I have recently watched (and I’ve watched a bunch!), Molly’s Game was my favorite. I didn’t know much about it beforehand, other than it had to do with poker. But, wow! It’s a movie. And it’s based on true events. After seeing it, I started to read all about the real Molly and her story.

Ooo! The KJP watch you have is so adorable!! I’m a sucker for watches.
I tried to make Pad Thai at home this week, and it was not a fail, but it wasn’t all that good. I’d really like to know what it’s supposed to taste like!

Wait, Carly am I missing something?! A move to another state!?!? I could’ve sworn I read something about that recently but I don’t remember hearing where you’d be moving to!

I was thinking the same thing! I know you’ve dropped some hints, but have I missed where you’re moving?

I had no idea a Le Pain opened in Stamford. Where have I been?! That bow stool is the cutest thing I’ve ever seen.

Bobbi Brown talks about her hotel on her second interview on the podcast Fat Mascara. I recommend both though, she talks a lot about being a business woman and developing her brand. Also, I love the new Draper James stuff! The lower prices are nice too. xAllie http://www.theallthyglittersblog.com

I saw Molly’s Game today and it was amazing! I’m love Jessica Chastain and Aaron Sorkin and they really delivered.

I just saw Molly’s Game last night and loved it! The story went so many paces I wasn’t expecting and I also kind of loved that there was no romance/love storyline? Just about this woman and her struggles for success and independence.
