ON MY RADAR 9.20.24

What a week! My mom has been here for a couple of days, which has been so fun and nice. We have been looking forward to this, especially since we really haven’t had a lot of time alone together in years. Nothing in 2020 because of the pandemic, then I was pregnant, and then once babies came into the picture we always had one (or two now) in tow. I almost kept the boys home from daycare but decided to keep them in their routine and just enjoy the time with my mom guilt free. We’ve shopped, lunched, done a few home projects together… the best!

How sweet is this little piece of art Mary Jane Macdonald Designs. I am obsessed.

Here’s what has been on my radar before:

ONE // The Friendship Paradox

This article really resonated with me about friendships in adulthood. I am absolutely guilty of having “one off” friends– friends from specific circumstances. One thing I’ve been working on is getting all of my friends together. It does take work and it takes coordination especially trying to line up schedules with children and jobs. Right now we’re trying to do a monthly meet up at Chili’s. Kind of like a book club, minus the books, plus chips & salsa. So far, so good! Group chats have been blowing up about how we all start counting down the days until the get together. One thing is clear: as much as we’re craving the chips and salsa, we are also craving connection with other women.

TWO // Quilt Pattern ChappyWrap

Two things I love in one: ChappyWrap and quilts! I love that this crazy soft ChappyWrap looks like a traditional quilt. It immediately caught my eye. Would be such a nice hostess gift ahead of the holidays if you’re staying over at someone’s house or just a gift to yourself, of course.

THREE // 650 Square Foot Apartment Tour

Wow! This is brilliant use of space! I love a good ole fashioned apartment tour, especially one that is so functional and stylish. Even though I no longer live in an apartment, our house is still pretty tiny and I’m always looking for creative ways to utilize every inch of square footage that we have! I watched this tour twice in a row I loved it so much.

FOUR // Samantha Varvel x Petite Keep

My friend Sam designed a collection for Petite Keep. The PK trunks are some of my very favorite things for children. They can be used for so many different purposes too. I have one for each of the boys to store special memories and one for myself to store special needlepoint pieces. You could have one for special wedding memorabilia or even just as cute storage for toys in a nursery. Loving her special collection!

FIVE // Oh Eight Substack

If you’re looking for a great Substack, I have the best recommendation. New Substacks are popping every day and, honestly, a lot are just kind of meh and don’t have their own perspective. Oh Eight by Gabby Whiten is phenomenal. It’s a breath of fresh air with a great point of view and actually adds something new to the conversation. I look forward to it so much… it kind of feels like the excitement of getting your favorite magazine in the mail back in 2004! I can’t wait to dive in to each post– they’re incredibly well done.
