What a week! Honestly it was a rollercoaster for me. I hit almost a breaking point of work stress. I had too many deadlines to squeeze into too short of time. But I’m really proud of what I churned out! And Jack and I flew down to Atlanta uneventfully and met up with my mom for another book signing. While I’m ready for a nap (🤣), I am feeling just so grateful for you guys. This community means so much to me and getting to put real faces and voices to Instagram handles never gets old!!!
Here’s what was on my radar this week:
ONE // “The Hidden Truth About Parenting Isn’t That It’s Really Hard”
I loved this essay. A lot. I think it speaks to how I have felt about parenthood. I’ve always wanted to be a mom, but I started to grow wary as I got closer and closer to actually becoming a mom. So much of what was on the internet was freaking me out. It is hard… but it’s also beautiful beyond belief!
TWO // Swimsuit Dress
I keep seeing this swimsuit dress and cannot stop thinking about it. The green gingham looks so darling!! (But the black is probably more practical.) I love that it’s modest and flirty still. You really can’t beat Old Navy’s pricing either.
THREE // Workwear Inspo
While scrolling through TikTok (as one does), I stumbled on Jasmine Ricks’ account and I was blown away by her workwear outfits. They’re so good, they tempted me to consider an in-office job just for the lewks. Check out her Instagram for so much fashion inspiration for work outfits. They are all amazing!!!
FOUR // Gingham Short Robe
Here I go with the green gingham again! Honestly, I just love my short sleeve robe from Weezie so much that I can’t stop staring at the new patterns they just came out with. (It’s also available in a long sleeve robe if you’re more of a traditional gal.)
FIVE // Nancy Meyers Comes to Netflix
Ending with some thrilling news…. Nancy Meyers just made a deal with Netflix to write, direct, and produce a new movie! Nancy can do no wrong as far as I’m concerned. Cannot wait to see what she comes up with. Who will she cast? Where will it be set? What’s the story??? WOO!
So many fun things here! So glad you had a great time in Atlanta! Have a great weekend!

Carly, I’m not going to lie… When I saw the Nancy Meyer’s x Netflix article the other day, I immediately was like, “Maybe this is why Carly said she was excited for projects next holiday season/upcoming year. Maybe she’s starring in the movie!”
I think I got my hopes up a little TOO much 🙂
I’m married but no kids, and we’ve had a hard time figuring out the timeline of when we want to have kids. I think sometimes it’s easy to want to just put off because it’s such a life-changing decision and because all you hear is the scary/high-pressure stuff.
I do like how the article sparked curiosity as to what the next adventure will look like (like what kinds of things would my kid do that would make my heart want to burst?) ..thanks for sharing!
I just wanted to say that I love your moms style! Whenever she is on the blog I love her outfit! (Your style is obviously also great but your mom’s is amazing “grandma” style!)
Carly, you look great (and Jack is adorable!) I would love to hear about current skincare/hair/makeup routines that are working for you. My son is a July baby (so about Jack’s age), and I feel like I’m still trying to get a slightly polished but practical look together…
Glad you had a good trip! I love seeing Meesh on the blog!
