On My Radar

Oh I had just the best time down in Florida visiting my friends and family. It wasn’t Florida weather at all– it was pretty chilly most of the trip. At one point, I told my mom that it didn’t even feel like I was in Tampa. (Kind of in a good way as we weren’t sweltering or drowning in humidity.) It felt like a true vacation. I even ignored emails for the week!
It was so very needed.

ONE // 3 Year Old Gymnast

With everything going on in the world, sometimes I just need to take five minutes to watch something that’s genuinely happy. Ellen always has the best videos and this one is especially adorable. I’d be happy if I had a quarter of this little girl’s strength, I’d be good to go.

TWO // Magnolia Flour

Okay anyone else obsessed with Chip and Jo on HGTV?! We don’t have cable but upgraded to the new Apple TV a couple of months ago. The first app I downloaded was HGTV. I can’t get enough of them. I just read an article (I’m late to the game here) sharing their plans for a bakery. Jo’s been sharing sneak peeks on her Instagram and let’s just say, I want to plan a road trip!

THREE // 3D Printed Invisalign

This college student 3D printed his own affordable Invisalign and it actually worked. He successfully straightened his teeth. Now it sounds pretty crazy to me (I wouldn’t trust myself to actually make my teeth straight), but I think it’s a great way to make braces more affordable!

FOUR // Rattan Bar Cart

I think bar carts are great for storage, even beyond just stocking a bar in your house. This is one of the cutest ones I’ve ever seen and it’s available for a great price! (It has great rewards already too!)

FIVE // Man Repeller Pronounces Designers

Something that I’m really self-conscious of is that I really can’t pronounce words. Ever. I mispronounce words all the time! I loved watching this video of Leandra (aka The Man Repeller) sharing the pronunciation of all the fashion designers. Some I knew and some I would have no clue how to say. And the names just rolled off her tongue so easily! I’m impressed.

Any fun weekend plans?! I’m going to be laying low and catching up on work!

xoxo

That 3D-printed invisalign thing is brilliant. I love toying with 3D printers. Unfortunately I already had multi-thousand dollar braces before 3D printer was even invented, but I might do that with my kids…

If you make a road trip down to Waco and decide to go a little further down to Houston, please let me know! I have been reading your blog since I was a senior in high school (2009) and would love to meet you! You, Garrett, and the pups would definitely have a place to stay if Houston is on your list!

On My Radar

I’m not going to lie, I was a puddle of stress this week. Ugh! Just one of those weeks. Luckily fall is here and I’m embracing it with the widest arms I can manage. Pumpkin tea every morning. Autumn candles burning all day. Apple picking adventure under our belts. Sweaters out of storage and more on their way.
We had so many apples from this weekend and I was itching to make an apple pie. My mom sent me her favorite recipe. A few hours in the kitchen and an extra trip to the grocery store… the pie was done!
Here’s what is on my radar for the week:
I’m featured on Joss and Main this week sharing my Ivy League inspired decor and style tips! The entire collection is amazing and pretty close to the vision Garrett and I have for our Connecticut apartment. Where’s the button to have everything magically appear here?!
I think I know where I want to scuba dive next… this. is. amazing. I want seal snuggles!
Wondering how I made that lattice pie crust? I had NO idea how to do it so I turned to Pinterest. I found this great blog complete with photos and an even better video. Seriously saved me!
This guy is incredible. Incredible. I want to listen to this on repeat. I want to buy every song this guy sings forever. I love the original song “Chandelier,” but ummmm this guy does it 3903 times better. Whoa.
FIVE // Bathtub Tray
How cool is this bathtub tray? Our friend Kenny has gotten into woodworking lately and he’s been coming up with some great products. I love it!

What’s been on your radar this week?!

On My Radar

This week was a good one! Isn’t it always the case that when you have something to look forward to, the days seem a little brighter (even if they also seem a little slower). Excited to be in Dallas this weekend connecting with my blogger friends from around the country. Definitely my favorite part. The fact that it’s also beautiful weather is a bonus!!
The only annoying part about the week is that I am so sore. I can’t really even remember the last time I worked out, but I was starting to feel cooped up and gross. I announced to Garrett that I thought we should go for a run. I’m not athlete, but he ran cross country. My big mistake was letting him keep the time… I wanted to run for thirty minutes and when we FINALLY got back to my stoop… it was an hour later. Running. For. An. Hour. My legs, abs, arms, everything is killin’ me! Sheesh. I don’t know how you runners do it!
Anywayyyyy… Here’s what is on my radar this week!

ONE // Amy Poehler

Need a personal pick-me-up? Amy Poehler nails the response about loving your body. While I’ve certainly been better about loving and accepting my body, I have some bad days from time to time. Love what Amy has to say about women loving their bodies and having gratitude. Sweet and simple, but terribly meaningful.
TWO // The Meaning of Maggie

I love looking at things organized neatly. Hello, Type A. This book cover is pretty much everything. Design Work Life dives into the behind the scenes and inspiration for the book cover and the accompanying, seriously amazing trailer for the book. Not the target audience, but oh my am I in love with the cover and trailer!
THREE // Truth Facts Graphs

Hilariously visual graphs of everyday life. Really. These are so great. I laughed at just about every single one. (Especially the spelling errors in an email. EVERY TIME.) There are 33, so plenty to keep you entertained for a while.

Perfect. Simply and utterly perfect. I can’t remember the last time I wanted everything from the Lilly collection. Always one or two standout pieces, but the whole summer line right now is so great and lust-worthy.

FIVE // Humans of New York VIDEO!

You all know I love Humans of New York. Brandon is now doing videos and I couldn’t be happier. His photos really capture personality, but the video really brings the person to life. Obsessed and can’t wait for more. (Oh, and he’s released another book with the kids!)

What’s on your radar this week?
