I’m flying to Paris TONIGHT! What! I can’t believe I’m actually going. Since I’m pretty nervous about the trip, I haven’t really been thinking about it that much. I have the “big” things planned, but for the most part, I think our plan is to wander around and just explore as much as we can. Even though this is my first trip there, I know if won’t be my last. (I already know I’d love to visit in the fall.)
It’s a relatively short trip, and I am unabashedly overpacking. I want options!!! I’ve also been checking the weather, and it looks BEAUTIFUL. Warm and sunny and a little cooler at night. Here are a few things I’m bringing:
Striped Shirt // Jeans // Trench Coat
Jack Rogers // Packable Hat // Sneakers // White Eyelet Dress
Floral Ruffle Top // Gingham Dress // Monogrammed Crossbody
Clubround Sunnies // Striped Tee // Crop Top // Lemon Sweater
Floral Dress // Floral Shorts // Ballet Flats
I don’t think I’m going for a particular look other than like… summer tourist?! Bah, I just can’t wait. Follow along on Instagram for real-time trip updates!
Oh my, Paris! I’m so excited for you, I’d love to go myself! Have lots of fun and those are great items to pack!

Can’t wait to see all your updates from Paris! I’ve never been before; it’s on my list of places to visit, but I’m not in any rush 🙂 Love the lemon sweater! -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey’s
I adore that blue bow hat!
You’re going to have a ball!!! I’ve been to Paris 18 times and it’s still one of my favourite cities of all time.
You need seriously comfortable shoes..the most comfortable ones you own. Some days you could walk 10km! It also gets super super hot so make sure you drink lots of water.
Couple of recommendations..Musée D’Orsay is incredible and if you’re visiting the Eiffel Tower, do it at night. Also the Diptyque shop and E. de Hillerin are beautiful shops. Bon voyage!!
I thought you were going alone, but no? Enjoy!
I’m meeting my friend Carter there!
I hope you have the best time in Paris! It’s my favourite city, I absolutely love visiting it! It’s not too far to visit from NW England, only an hour in the plane!
I hope you have a great week Carly,
Michael

Have you purchased a museum pass? It will probably be busy this time of year and the pass let’s you skip the lines. It’s so worth it!
I did!!! A bunch of readers recommended it! So thankful!
So excited to hear more about your trip! This is such a perfect packing list! I hope you have a wonderful time!!

Can’t wait to follow along and live vicariously through you! Especially because it’s currently gloomy and in the 50s here in Chicago 🙃 Safe travels!
Lovely packing picks! I am going to Paris in August, I can’t wait to hear about your trip and get some good recommendations! Have a wonderful and safe trip!

My biggest recommendation is to find the time to go to Versailles. You can take the metro there! So so so so worth it. Also, the metro is probably the best/easiest way to get around. I don’t speak a lick of French and still found it pretty user friendly.
So exciting! I hope you have a blast! I can’t wait to hear about the trip.
So exciting! I loved Paris when I visited
with some girlfriends a few years back! Who are you going to Paris with? Julia? Is it a work trip or a fun trip?
My friend Carter!
Adore the J.Crew Floral printed dress and shorts! I do like the crop top with the floral shorts!!!!! Just ordered a crop top from Forever 21 and got it in the mail. Then I realized exactly why I never order from that store. It never fits me correctly and is poorly made. That white scalloped top just might be the perfect substitution for the look I’m going for!

Hey Carly!! Love to read that you are going to Paris! I still remember that blog post where you pondered it. I was there last summer and summer nights where HOT! I’d say always keep a cardigan on you, but I could almost bet that you don’t need it. Also: comfortable shoes. Drop the sandals as parisian gardens and parks have sand roads. I can’t stress enough how important comfortable shoes are. If you are planning to go to Versailles, go really early, bring lots of water and rent the golf car. Versailles is humongous and you walking it is a nightmare in summer. For the Louvre: get the audioguide (the English explanations on the boards are not enough to really appreciate the whole exhibitions) and don’t sweat it if you don’t make it in a day. It’s also super huge. IMHO parisian scrambled eggs suck. They are so greasy and overcooked. Stick to the bakeries 😉 Food is expensive, starting at 100€ for two people at night, so the Monoprix (supermarket not the clothing brand) will be your savior (they have great packed sandwiches!). A Rucksack is your best friend for those long days walking and carrying 1.5kg of water. By the way, tap water is perfectly fine in Paris, so if you run out of water, simply go to a bathroom and reload your bottle 🙂 always keep your bag close to you, pickpocketing is growing popular, especially around Sacre-Coeur. Hope this helps!! Have a great tip!
I want to go to Paris so badly now. I love the dress.

Have so much fun in Paris! It’s a beautiful city!
You will have the BEST time and I cannot wait for you to experience my favorite city! Enjoy every minute!
don’t both bringing the Jack Rogers sandals….no one wears them and you will feel really out of place
They’re my favorite sandals though! Not trying to fit in
I’m loving that you packed gingham and those dainty florals, they’re stunning for spring and will photograph beautifully!

Definitely go to Versailles if you have time for it and see if you can get a bike tour of the grounds! Also, stop by Angelina’s on Rue de Rivoli for the most amazing hot chocolate and pastries! A nice treat after long walking days 🙂 And make sure you have euros for the washroom!
Such great choices. Would love to have had said I have been and give you the low down. Best wishes.
Ah! I’m excited for you, you’re going to fall in love with Paris! When I first visited I almost didn’t want to like it because everyone loves Paris but then when I got there, it just sucked me in and I got heart eyes for that city! Enjoy a chocolate croissant! Also, if you have time Versaille is stunning! The Queens Hamlet is particularly gorgeous and fun to just roam around… awesome location for pictures! It’s like out of a story book!
I am going to Paris in May and thinking about ordering the ballet flats, Demi/Margaux. Are they comfortable for walking a lot i.e. for sightseeing around Paris?
