ON MY RADAR

Ugh, I came into the new year with a great mindset! I started to feel a little anxious considering how miserable I was last winter… But I kept reminding myself that I’m not going to have morning sickness this year and I don’t have to meet any book deadlines! It’ll be a different winter! It still hit pretty hard this week that the pandemic is still raging on and that, while there’s no snow on the ground, it’s cold. I had to postpone a trip to Tampa to see my family and I think that just really soured my mood. I’m still determined to turn my attitude around though! Making healthy meals, bundling up for walks outside, having a needlepoint project I’m excited about. I’ve been turning to “little luxuries” to be excited about throughout the day.

Here’s what has been on my radar this week:

ONE // Em Henderson on a New Social Media Outlook

So this is written from the perspective of an “influencer,” but I think it can be applied more generally to anyone on social media lately. Like what do we want to create? What do we want to consume? What makes us feel good? What doesn’t? I know I ask myself this both as a consumer and creator of content. I have felt a shift over the years, in a positive way and hope to continue in the same direction. Would love to know your thoughts too.

TWO // “OUI” Needlepoint Kit

How cute is this “OUI” needlepoint kit from Clare V. It’s a perfect beginner canvas too if you’re looking for a good place to start. It could be finished in a bunch of cute ways… like framing it, making a clutch, or sewing it as a pillow!

THREE // Business Minded Giveaway

There are a few more days to enter to win a copy of my book on Goodreads. There are actually 20 copies available, so more chances to win!

FOUR // Addison Bay’s Resort Collection

I love Addison Bay’s inspired collection of athletic clothes. Practical and beautiful workout outfits that work in and out of the gym. I have a pair of the leggings and they’re a fun pop of color. They just launched their first resort collection and I’m drooling over it all! This quarter-zip is beautiful.

FIVE // Miley Cyrus and Brandi Carlile Perform “The Story” and “The Climb”

WOW!!! This is such a good duo…. Miley Cyrus and Brandi Carlile just performed together on New Year’s Eve and it’s amazing!! You need to watch. Goosebumps.

This might be a silly question (I’ve never needlepointed), but can you buy a canvas and use different color threads? I love the pattern of your stocking canvas, but I’m more of a traditionalist when it comes to Christmas colors. I try to leave pastel colors for the spring (something to look forward to 🌷).

Without the holidays to distract it feels like a lot of people have felt anxiety and pandemic fog return this week. I’m also focusing on daily walks, meditation, and making time to read refreshing books.
