Anyone else ready for a little bit of color? I pretty much exclusively stuck to neutrals this winter and as much as I love a good camel and black ensemble (and you know I do!), I’m ready for some color.
What better way to add a pop of color than with a gorgeous scarf? And what’s better than a gorgeous scarf that’s under $50?
I have last year’s scarf which I ended up wearing a ton, but I also loved how feminine the pink one was. They’re pretty easy to style too. Since they’re pretty large, I think they work best just folded simply and draped over your shoulders. And with so many colors in the print, it works with a neutral outfit (like I wore here) or with something in a color pulled from the scarf like a solid dress.
I could have alternatively titled this post: spring staples. My entire outfit has pieces that I am going to wear all season long. Including, MY FAVORITE OXFORD SHIRT. This is actually quite huge news because I bought this shirt years ago when I was still living in Manhattan and it is THE perfect oxford. Like perfect weight, perfect fit, everything about it is perfect, including the price. It’s under $30. Mine is a button down and it looks like they made this year’s style a button up, but other than that it looks pretty spot on!
I love how great the scarf looks against the stark white, without the trench.
Unfortunately, my bag is sold out. But the white version of it is on sale.
And my shoes are still available and 20% off with CARLY20 at checkout.

Thank you for sharing about the oxford shirt! I love the J. Crew factory oxfords, but the fit is never right. Even when I size way down, it still seems to be way to big and boxy on me. This one looks like it fits perfectly!! And I cannot beat that price point! May have to do some shopping today 🙂
xx Libby
Love this! It’s just another reminder how much I love a classic trench coat for spring. The scarf makes for a fun pop of color.

…I was today years old when I learned that there’s a difference between a button-down and a button-up.
Yes, came to comment about the same! Please enlighten me – what’s the difference between a button-down and a button-up?!
Yes — I came to comments to see if anyone else had this question! What’s the difference?!
Me too! And now I need to go Google the difference…
A button down shirt means that there is a button on the collar!! A button up means no button on collar!! ☺️☺️☺️
I love the color that the scarf brings to the outfit, Carly!
Those flats are perfect for spring! Also loving the scarf so much!

That scarf is absolutely gorgeous! I’m so excited to break out color with my wardrobe now that it’s warmer out!

Do you prefer this shirt over “the shirt” from Rochelle? (Disregarding price point)
Looking for a good white shirt and trying to decide which direction to go
Thanks!
They’re completely different in terms of fit and material so it really depends on what you want. The Shirt is more elevated and has a more tailored fit. This is more of a loose oxford shirt!
What a beautiful scarf!
