RED-Y, SET, GO

A funny little story from Jack to get this post going… Jack is turning three in August and he is super, super curious. He’s always asking questions and trying to better understand things and sometimes it even makes me take a step back and wonder WHY things are the way they are. We have been playing a lot of “red light/green light” and it was going great, but all of a sudden Jack was insisting that red meant go. I kept correcting him, he kept insisting. Finally he started chanting, “ready set go!” And I realized he thought it was red-y, set, go… I was like, “OH. Okay that’s ‘ready’ not ‘red-y.'” But how on earth are you supposed to explain that to a two year old!

Anyway, that’s the inspiration for today’s title.

I’ve been wanting to mix up my style and wardrobe and I’m using this period of postpartum to experiment a bit more. I sound like a broken record but since 2019, I’ve moved out of an urban environment to the suburbs, survived a global pandemic, and have had two babies. Five years and a lot of change. I’m a different person in mind, body, and spirit.

I’ve always loved how I looked in red, but I’ve been intimidated to wear it outside of July and the holidays. Of course, I have worn it– it just felt a little… bold. I’ve just recently decided to embrace it more and sprinkle it into my wardrobe. Luckily for me, red is everywhere right now so it’s been easy to find pieces I love.

Last week, I got a bunch of J. Crew pieces in. Tons of red! I filmed a fun Reel and shared all the pieces here, too.

I think red is a great color on you! Dare I say, I’d like to see you in orange, and maybe a deep, bright pink as well.

Absolutely adorable “red” reel. Love how you’re embracing a new “bold” color year round. ❤️
