I had so much fun putting together these photo books. We had a busy, busy summer filled with a ton of beautiful and fun memories. And my overflowing camera roll is proof! So many photos documenting all the fun! Jack has recently gotten very into books. We’ve been reading since day one, but it always felt like we were reading for ourselves and the idea of reading than for him. Something clicked though and now he reaches for books all the time. He has favorites and loves looking at photos and pointing to everything inside. I thought he would love some books with photos from our summer adventures! Guys, they came out so cute, I can’t recommend doing this enough!! (Even if you don’t have kids, it’s just so lovely to have photos printed in cute little books!)
Shutterfly makes creating photo books so easy, and dare I say it… fun! I always felt intimidated by putting together books like this because it feels like such a pain to have to cull through photos and make the layouts and everything. Shutterfly’s process is super easy. They have a ton of different sizes, but since these were for Jack, I went with the 6×6 Instant Books and they are too cute. The perfect size for documenting and remembering fun memories.
I have the books in Jack’s nursery right now so he can flip through them while playing. They’re really just so fun and the quality is great. Shutterfly lets you upload photos and select between different layouts so you are guaranteed to have a book that looks expertly done. Each took me about ten minutes to put together after I selected the photos.
In addition to the photos, you can also add text and captions. I skipped it, but looking back, I wish I had added some stories to accompany the photos so we could read the books together! You can also add fun “stickers” and graphics. I made extra books with the photos of the cousins to give to the girls as gifts. (They love looking at photos!) And I added all the fun stickers to the pages because I thought they’d think they were extra cute.
Shutterfly has a ton of styles to choose from as well. No matter what your photo books feature, there is a design for you.
The best part of the 6×6 Instant Photo Books? They’re only $9.99 with shipping included. I love the idea of making them as little thank you gifts, gifts for grandparents, books for kids to flip through, etc. Once you get started it’s kind of addicting, to be honest!!

I love this idea! Perfect way to commemorate special events, vacations, etc.
I’m curious what the difference is between these and chatbooks?
ChatBooks are a little more “scripted” if that makes sense!
