Summer Done Simple

Does anyone else find something they love and then wear it too many times to count in a row? That’s how I have been with this linen sweater. I bought it before Ireland on a whim. (I went in for one thing and came out with something completely different.) I wish I had bought it in a few colors… it’s the perfect summer sweater.
It’s light enough to wear on an eighty-degree day but protects from the inevitable air-conditioned chill. I wore in Ireland with jeans and flats and I’ve been wearing it here with denim shorts. It’s a little bit sheer which is something I’d typically shy away from, but with the right bra, I don’t know, it kind of works?
The other day I wore the sweater over my favorite bikini top and it took on a whole new look.

xoxoPS So random, but this year I’m having really bad summer allergies… Any advice? This happened to me six years ago (omg where has time gone?) when I raced at Henley but I’ve been relatively in the clear since then… until now. So much sneezing and my nose and throat are constantly bothering me!

Lowkey obsessed with this outfit! And I've been having the worst allergies this year too! My eyelids keep swelling up, and my doctor told me to just take one benadryl at night before bed. It has definitely helped!

I've heard Connecticut has different pollen than other areas, so that could be what's bothering you! Zyrtec or Benadryl are probably your best bets.

Buying local honey helps! It's something to do with the pollen, my dad has had me do that for years! It worked when I was studying abroad in Spain.

Do J Crew sweaters run TTS? I take Claritan everyday. We also run an air purifier d/t our two cats and a dog.

I like both local honey and taking 1 Zyrtec in the morning and one at night before bed (chance to really sit in your system overnight) if the allergies are bothering me and the next day I feel normal! Feel better soon!

Completely agree with the local honey trick! Another rule our family follows is to squeeze 1/2 of a lime in your water bottle every single day. Limes are supposed to help with allergies, though you must be religious about it! -Emily

Hey there! For allergies, all allergy meds seem to make me so incredibly sleepy. What I ended up doing was tracking what days my allergies were bad in Zyrtec and then noticed one day that they were not bothering me and expected the pollen count to be way low, only to find it was very high! I noticed that oak pollen was no longer listed, so figured out that this was the culprit. I bought some homeopathic drops by BioAllers specifically for tree pollen, but they make it for other types of pollen as well. I take the drops a couple of times a day and it keeps the allergies at bay without exhausting me. Hope you can figure it out soon! You can also probably figure out what the culprit is by looking at the current pollen types in CT and those in NYC to determine what is in CT that you were not exposed to in NYC.
