SUMMER NEEDLEPOINT

It’s been a while since I did a round up of needlepoint canvases and thought now was a perfect time to share some of the best fun, summery ones out there. Right now, I’m furiously working on baby’s stocking. I barely stitched a thing for the first few months of the year (a weird “symptom” of that first trimester is that I had no interest in needlepointing) and I’m making up for lost time by working on this huge project. Finishing deadlines for stockings are fast approaching so I’m trying to get the stocking done before the deadline (and before the baby is here, too).

I also have a couple of smaller projects for the nursery (a pillow with his name and a hanging “some bunnies sleeping” sign) for when the stocking is finished and when I don’t want to lug around the giant stocking canvas.

That was a very longwinded way of saying that, I have a lot of stitching to do this summer, but it won’t be fun summer canvases! So, I will live vicariously through all of you stitchers.

If you’re new to needlepoint, start with my NEEDLEPOINT FOR BEGINNERS post!

These canvases have me craving a week at the beach with nothing to do but sit in the sun (or under an umbrella more like!) and stitch, stitch, stitch.

Laura

I too am working fervently on a Christmas stocking!
I think we have very similar due dates if not the same. I am due Aug 13th with my first, a little girl! It has been fun reading about your pregnancy and going through it with you.
