SUMMER VACATION ESSENTIALS

We had the best low-key vacation in Nantucket. I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better week. Morning family dog walks, long beach days followed by a cool outdoor shower, and a warm Something Natural chocolate chip cookie before bed. I pretty much rotated through comfy pajamas, bathing suits, and easy dresses for the two weeks, and it was glorious. One of the best parts of vacation is getting to lounge a bit longer in my PJs. These days I almost exclusively wear these Pima Cotton pajama sets. The fabric is so dreamy, and I haven’t found anything that compares. A silk sleep mask is another essential when traveling. It makes a noticeable difference in my overall sleep quality when I’m in a new environment, and they’re great for naps, ha!

I have multiple LL Bean Boat and Totes and bring one on just about every trip I take. The x-large is a great carry-on size, and the large is perfect as a “personal item” or beach bag. Although I may have started using packing cubes after Jack was born, consider me a convert. They neatly squish everything in so you can squeeze more things into your suitcase without overflowing.

I like to bring a couple of easy dresses on vacation that I know I can wear on multiple occasions. Of course, you can’t go wrong with a white midi dress. This one is under $100 and has the cutest tie shoulder detail. A good sunhat is key since I try to keep the sun off my face as much as possible when we’re at the beach. Go for one with a wider brim for even more sun protection, and don’t forget sunscreen! The two I’ve been wearing the most are the Supergoop! PLAY Sunscreen and the Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen for my face.

Finally, what would a summer vacation be without a good book and a fun needlepoint canvas?!

Do you find that the Supergoop unseen sunscreen makes your face sweat or breakout?

I’m not Carly 😉 but I’ve been using the Unseen sunscreen daily and love it! It doesn’t have a white cast and does not cause me to break out. I have super sensitive skin. Hope that helps!
