Right before my trip to the Bahamas, Vineyard Vines sent me a bunch of boxes with new clothes (and a few summer sneak peeks). It felt a bit like Christmas!
We really only had three days to explore so Mackenzie, Kelly, and I tried to plan our outfits accordingly. My favorite dress out of the bunch was definitely this gingham beach dress. I knew I had to wear it right away and I’m glad I did because our first stop was Hope Town on Elbow Cay. We spent the whole day exploring the beaches and wandering around town. There is nothing quite like the colors in the Bahamas. Every house was adorable and the scenery was so gorgeous it was almost fake!
I got a million and a half questions about the dress in my DMs on Instagram:
Where is it from? It’s from Vineyard Vines! The major pieces of all of our outfits the whole trip were gifts from Vineyard Vines.
How is the sizing? This is the kind of dress where you could easily go up, go down, or go with your usual. It’s very forgiving. I’d probably suggest staying with your regular size or going down if you have a smaller chest. There’s smocking on the back that helps give it a perfect fit and the straps can be retied to fit you just right.
Is it a coverup or a dress? So it’s called a “beach dress,” so I’d kind of consider it both. I think you definitely have to wear it in a casual setting, like on vacation at the beach or with something else to dress it up a bit (like a denim jacket or cute wedges). It would be perfect for over a bathing suit or, like me, for an afternoon spent in a beach town.
Does it fly up? Yeeeeep. I wouldn’t suggest it for a super breezy day. It’s a VERY full skirt– I think it’s actually a full circle– and it was billowing up a bit for me, especially on the boat.
I went barefoot for half the day and slipped into these sandals for the other half. I also exclusively carried this handbag, which somehow didn’t make it into any photos. (Probably made Dad aka Sean hold it hahah.)

Vineyard Vines did so good with their spring dresses this year! So much blue and white! I love the two gingham dresses, but the tie-front seersucker is my favorite!
