Confession: I’m not getting a tree this year. I loved having one in the apartment last year as far as how it looked, but the needles drove me absolutely bonkers. Maybe one year I’ll be brave enough to try again. For now, though, I’ll stick to my tiny two-foot one fake one that you might have seen on my Insta Story last week.
The best thing for me? Helping someone else pick out there tree! Ha! All the fun and no needles to deal with!
Is there such thing as too much plaid in one’s closet? Because I may or may not be approaching that limit. (Insert Mean Girls quote to say, “The limit does not exist!”)
I saw this plaid shirt while I was touring Tuckernuck’s new office and I not-so-subtly put it on a wishlist. It’s a short sleeve version of the popular The Shirt by Rochelle Behrens. If you’ve tried on her shirt before, you know how it’s magic. If you haven’t, I’ll tell you the “secret,” but you really have to try the shirt on to understand just how much she’s perfected it. She has hidden buttons right by the bust, so the shirt doesn’t gape! I have been known to use a safety pin to fake this on some of my blouses that I love without the magic buttons, but her buttons are literally perfection. Best. Fitting. Shirt. Ever.
(Comes in tons of colors and prints, by the way.)
The detailing on the shirt, beyond just the plaid, is everything. I loved the short sleeves and peter pan collar; they make the shirt look like it’s made for you instead of just borrowed from a guy’s closet.
Had to bring along my go-to tote that I nearly always bring along for errands. I load it up with all of my purchases, so I don’t waste paper or plastic bags.

Love the plaid shirt! I don’t know what it is about the combination of colours of it, but it looks extra Christmassy! ❤️

Glad you were still able to join in on the festive fun, even without a real tree of your own! (My family has a fake tree that’s up year round. I think we just… never got around to taking it down after one Christmas and it’s been up ever since haha) // Loving your lip colour! -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey’s
This shirt is genius! I’d be more than happy to say goodbye to the days of using double-sided sticky tape or safety pins to keep those buttons down. Such a great idea!
tree needles can definitely be a pain to deal with! Love your top!

This shirt is so freaking cute, I love the short sleeves too! And whatever is happening with the buttons sounds like the best idea ever.

That top is darling! I absolutely love the details on it! And I agree, the limit does not exist when it comes to plaid 🙂

Genius design detail!
There is nothing wrong with passing up a tree this year! Last year my husband and I were in the middle of moving from Florida to South Carolina so we decided to skip the tree and presents for each other to focus on the move. While I missed having one it made things a little easier during the chaos of moving.
I love that shirt as much as you! It fits you great for sure, and the plaid print with the peter pan collar is so cute! Love this post 🙂

I’m getting a 4 foot white fake tree, I just ordered it this morning and it should be arriving in a couple of days.
Right now I don’t want to take care of a real tree so I get where you’re coming from!
I love the plaid shirt and your tote.
I ordered this shirt but sadly it runs large and the XS is way too big/boxy on me 🙁 So disappointed because it looks cute on you!
I absolutely love this shirt! Does it ship to Australia? Looks amazing on you btw.
