Things I’ve Purchased Recently

Just wanted to share a few recent purchases…

WINDOWPANE RUFFLED BLOUSE

I know I’m going to be spending a lot of the fall in jeans and cozy outfits. I thought this blouse was a good balance of cute and comfy….

ANKLE SOCKS

This is not very exciting… but I needed new socks. I HATE socks with a passion. I find most super uncomfortable and I’m very, very picky. Unfortunately I have to wear socks with my Peloton shoes. I stocked up on a few more pairs of my favorite ones: the Bombas. They are EXPENSIVE for socks, but I swear they’re worth it.

BUTTON BACK CABLE KNIT

You guys know I love a good sweater. I have a similar “pom” sweater from a couple of years ago in an oatmeal and decided to add the camel to the collection, too. This style has little buttons on the back, too, which is such a sweet little detail.

FALL FABRIC

I have been on a sewing spree lately and the fabric hoarding (“collecting”) is intense. I am more inclined to want to buy fabric right now than clothes for myself. Finding non-cheesy options can be like finding a needle in a haystack. When I stumbled on this collection, I immediately started dreaming up projects to use it for. LOVE it.

INSTAX PHOTO FRAME

One of my sister in laws took a bunch of great Instax photos at our wedding. While trying to find a nice way to display or store the photos, I found this photo frame on Amazon. I did have to use painter’s tape on the back to get the photos to stay in place, but it gets the job done! Great gift idea too.

RUFFLENECK SHIRT

I thought these ribbed shirts would be perfect for wearing with skirts or tucked into jeans for a casual look. I just don’t think you can have enough basics.

SADDLE SHOES

I’m doing a joint Halloween costume with a friend for fun and bought saddle shoes… Call me crazy but they’re honestly ADORABLE. Like I will be wearing them without costumes. These were a little expensive for a costume, but once I put them on I realized why. They are super comfortable right out of the box and they even have memory foam in the sole. Legit recommend, just go up 1/2 a size.

Me, too! That is what I think is Carly’s costume – she and her friend as American Girl dolls!

Have you tried balega socks? I love them! I tried bombas and it didn’t fit me well, i think they were a size larger.

Love the fabric shop you linked to! Would love a fabric shop/fabric roundup! Like you said so hard to sift through the “cheese” 😉 Glad you linked to this one.

I have a pair of b&w saddle shoes in my closet leftover from high school. And I’ve always kept them because they were so expensive and I look at them all the time & think, can I wear them? I would LOVE to see someone style them!

I’m convinced we have the same costume! I think you mentioned starting your costume after Christmas and mine in a post holiday purchase as well. Book related … and may have already been mentioned in the comments. :-O

As a mom of a very particular toddler I have to vouch for the Bombas socks! For weeks she was flipping out because all socks were “too bumpy” but the invisible toe seam makes these a game changer… plus they grow with the kid so they are worth the splurge. They’re so cozy I want to get some for myself!

Fabric shopping and stash building rank near the top of my favorite things list. Highly recommend checking out the podcast Love to Sew. Helen and Caroline are so great. You’ll get all kinds of info on all kinds of topics- including sourcing high quality garment fabrics.
