TIME FOR TARTAN

I don’t know about you guys but I could use some festive moments in my life. It’s been such a rollercoaster of the year and I’m ready for some cheap thrills this holiday season. Mid-week fires in the fireplace after work, yep. Cooking meals and baking holiday desserts with too many ingredients, I’m in. Bringing out the holiday decorations out a bit early, of course.

This includes breaking out my holiday clothes! So many of my favorite holiday-themed clothes are on the dressier side. I was excited to see that J. Crew released some more casual tartan things. Perfect for this year. My absolute favorite of everything? This smocked top– which also happens to be 50% off right now with the code “DRESSYISH” at checkout. Couldn’t wait another day to post it in case you too want to add it to your collection.

Time for Tartan: Carly the Prepster waring tartan top

It’s Time for Tartan!

The details on this top are everything. An over the top festive tartan, frilly collar, smocked neck, ruffles at the cuffs. Couldn’t love it more.

Since it is on the more aggressive side of things and it’s only November 5, I thought layering a fisherman sweater over toned it down perfectly for a more “it’s-still-early-november-but-I-appreciate-your-enthusiasm” look.

Could NOT agree more! I’ve just been slowly pulling out little holiday things here and there so my husband hopefully doesn’t notice I’m borderline insane. Few things make me happier than Christmas soap in our bathroom!

Love your “‘it’s-still-early-november-but-I-appreciate-your-enthusiasm’ look” comment! I have a ton of plaid, but there are some i tend to wait until Nov/Dec to wear. Not this year! Bring on all the holiday things. 🙂

That shirt is PERFECT for the holidays. Pair it with that fisherman sweater and that’s the perfect Thanksgiving outfit.
