WEEK OF OUTFITS 3.16.21

Oh what a glorious week we had!!!! It was weirdly both an intense work week with big deadlines and also one of the happiest weeks in a while just from all the great sun and warmth. Funny how that just puts a pep in your step and makes what would have been a dull week feel extra special.

LAST WEEK’S WIN: The return of date night! Well, more like “early bird” date nights. With the great weather, Mike and I walked into town a couple of times for early dinners. It was absolutely amazing. First of all, it felt so nice to be out and to see most of town out as well. Plus no dishes. Plus sun, plus just feeling like we could have a normal date. Like sit across from each other and talk outside of our home. It felt so good.

THIS WEEK’S GOAL: Kind of a cheesy one, but I want to really try to keep my “face to the sun” metaphorically speaking. It’s been such a good stretch of happiness and I don’t want to lose that momentum. I’m sure, as always, there will be hiccups. I just want to keep focusing on the good and the positive.

Here are my outfits for the week:

TUESDAY

This was the first time in a while where I felt back to my “usual” self outfit-wise. I literally put on the outfit and thought, “Oh yes, this is what it feels like to feel cute again.” Bare ankles again! And this is one of the handful of pairs of jeans that still fit.

WEDNESDAY

I spent most of the day shooting content and writing before heading over to volunteer! The best part of the day was that I went outside for 20 minutes to just SIT in the sun. I finished one task but didn’t have enough time to get into another before I had to leave so I took advantage.

THURSDAY

Thursday felt downright magical despite being your typical work day. Mike and I went out for an early date night as the temperature bopped over 70 degrees for the first time. Just the perfect night and we genuinely looked at each other and sighed with relief. Felt like we made it through the winter. We even got ice cream on the way home!

FRIDAY

Friday started off totally normal. I had a high stakes phone call in the morning and after it was over, I felt immense relief. (Nothing like having that looming over your head all week.) I also had a lunch-time appointment at my OB. I don’t know what happened, but I just felt like I was floating on Cloud 9 after hearing the baby’s heartbeat again. And that’s where the day derailed. So I decided to bake a cake spur of the moment, pulling up a recipe on my phone in the grocery store parking lot. And then I just called it a day and went home to bake a cake for fun.

SUNDAY

I had a great workout (this is notable because I haven’t felt super strong while working out lately) and felt like it gave me such a good mental boost. Mike and I then got brunch at a local restaurant with outdoor dining. And had a pretty lazy afternoon after that.

MONDAY

What’s the worst way to start a Monday after springing forward? A trip to the dentist. BUT, I’m always so relieved to have it checked off my list for another six months. It’s nice to have it done first thing in the morning right at the beginning of the week.

Loved this round-up! Any chance you’d ever to a “Guide to Central Jersey”? I’m somewhat local and would be interested in your recommendations.

I’m in northern NJ, but even still I’m still super new the area. Especially with the pandemic we haven’t been able to explore that much so I don’t have too much to contribute!
