WEEK OF OUTFITS 6.1.21

This was such a chill week here and I loved it. Slow mornings, easy afternoons, and low-key evenings. I took some time off this past weekend too and despite crummy weather it was definitely a great time to recharge. We had planned on going down the shore and the whole family decided last minute to not bother with the drive. It was 100% the right call because it was cold and super, super rainy. Perfect mood to roll up my sleeves and do some housework I had neglected recently. My outfits are definitely a reflection of this!

LAST WEEK’S WIN: I made huge progress on the nursery (finally). It’s been looming over my head, but all the big components are ordered: crib, dresser, glider, rug. The wallpaper is ready to be ordered (waiting for the launch of it) and I scheduled the wainscoting to be installed. I emptied the closet (we’d been using it as extra storage) and picked up/ordered everything I needed to turn to get it ready for baby.

THIS WEEK’S GOAL: I think the biggest thing I want/need to focus on is just generally speaking more positive self-talk. Not much to contribute there other than noting it’s something I definitely know I could be better about.

TUESDAY

I got back from Florida late Monday night and had planned to spend all of Tuesday getting back into the groove at home. But…. I had the glucose test for gestational diabetes in the morning. The actual test was not nearly as bad as I expected it to be. However, in the middle of the afternoon I got insanely sick. It was crazy really– I was absolutely dripping with sweat and couldn’t stand up without passing out. Apparently, it’s a “normal” reaction (or at least within the window of normalcy) and I passed the actual glucose test but it totally derailed my day.

WEDNESDAY

It was a pretty straightforward Wednesday. I had an early morning chiropractor appointment and volunteered in the afternoon. It was our last shift with full covid protocols… we are moving to a hybrid system (a midway point back to normalcy)!

THURSDAY

Typical Thursday working from home. The exciting part of the day was going to the farmers’ market!! It was my first time of the year and I stocked up on some of our go-to items from our favorite vendors. I’ve missed them!

FRIDAY

I tied up loose ends I had from the week, but honestly shifted into “long weekend” mode pretty early. I ran errands, got coffee with Elsa, and Mike and I had a pizza date night at home.

SATURDAY

We went over to Mike’s parents’ house for the afternoon and dinner. Such a fun night of looking through old photo albums and just hanging out. The plan was for everyone to spend the night, but Hamilton wasn’t feeling 100% so I ended up driving home to sleep at our house with the dogs.

SUNDAY

I woke up and drove back to their house. We had breakfast together and then played games in the basement. Mike and I came home and settled into a luxuriously lazy Sunday. The weather was just so gross. I ended up organizing and deep cleaning everything in my office. It was long overdue and felt amazing getting rid of old paperwork and things I no longer needed.

MONDAY

We had some friends over in our backyard for a barbecue and just relaxed and hung out. It wasn’t the beach weekend we had planned on, but it ended up being perfect in its own way!
