It was a pretty typical week over here. Pretty warm and humid with some thunderstorms mixed in, so I’ve been wearing all of my go-to summer dresses. (You’re probably sick of seeing the same ones heavily in rotation.)
LAST WEEK’S WIN: Maybe not the “biggest” win, but certainly a “feel good” one was getting to spend a lot of quality time with Mike’s siblings. So grateful we all live super close to each other. Whether it’s sitting down to an impromptu lunch in the middle of the day, celebrating a birthday, or just hanging out after work… it’s the best. I don’t take a single hang out for granted. (And I count my lucky stars that I lucked out so much in the in-law department!!!!)
THIS WEEK’S GOAL: Simply to enjoy our little Nantucket babymoon!!!! Mike and I are really looking forward to this week. It’s so wild to think that the next time we’re here we’ll have a baby in tow 😱 For now we will enjoy our quiet, low-key, and easy time just the two of us.
WEEK OF OUTFITS 6.29.21
We had a pretty intense rain storm for most of the day. I was feeling kind of blah because of the weather so I put on a cute dress to bring up my mood a little bit. It definitely works, even if I’m just at home!
It was a full, normal work day at home on Wednesday. I had a big task that was going to require my undivided focus at the computer for the entire day really. And then I got to break away to volunteer. It was a quieter evening at the food bank and it was nice to chat with everyone in between clients.
On Thursday, the nursery got painted! And after work, Mike’s sister came over and we all did a cooking class together online. Mike did most of the cooking, we helped a tiny bit, but were mostly there to eat the final product.
I tried my best to tie up as many loose ends as possible since I knew I was going to be taking time away from work while on vacation. After work I got together with a neighbor and her kids (so fun!) and then went to Mike’s sister’s house to celebrate her birthday (also so fun!). I didn’t get home until well after 11pm– which is very late for me nowadays, haha!
I had to work a bit on Saturday and then spent the afternoon doing laundry, packing, and doing a pre-trip clean of the house. Super thrilling.
Mike and I left bright and early from NJ and drove up to the cape, took the ferry to Nantucket, and then checked into our rental for the week. We did a little drive around the island, picked up groceries, and walked around a tiny bit, too. Then we met up with Mackenzie and her husband for a double date followed by Juice Bar!
Started the day with an hour long walk and a little breakfast back at our cottage while Mike golfed. Then we made our way to the beach for sandwiches, where we sat for hours reading, snoozing, and swimming. I spent most of the day in a bathing suit, but then switched into this dress I’ve had for a few years for dinner.
