How is it AUGUST?! I’m in denial! I will say, I’m not ready for fall per se, but this heat wave we’ve been in has been wearing me down, big time. We did get a little break in the weather and I have been cherishing the cool mornings! Whew!
LAST WEEK’S WIN: This was a FUN weekend. I felt like it was a true summer weekend. We went to the pond a ton for some swimming with friends and family. Nothing crazy or over the top, but it just felt like a classic good ole fashioned weekend at home.
THIS WEEK’S GOAL: We are heading upstate for a week to Mike’s family’s lake house. It’s going to be a little crazy getting ready for the trip and I’m a little anxious about it since this is the first summer where Jack can walk. (And by walk… I mean run….) I’m kind of bracing myself for a wild week of chasing him around and keeping him from launching himself off the porch 🫣
Here’s what I wore this week:
TUESDAY
A little Jack day!
Dress (c/o)
WEDNESDAY
Desk day in my office
THURSDAY
Another desk day!
FRIDAY
Pickleball Friday!
SUNDAY
Bagel and park date with Jack!
Dress (c/o)
MONDAY
Lazy Mom-day at home!
Love the longer dresses! So light and slowly for summer!

Pack some portable baby gates. We used to go to my sister in law’s house when my son was that age and she had a very non-kid friendly house with lots of steep stairs, overhangs, etc and I found that we mostly hung out on the 1st floor and I gated off what I could. I know the gates can’t be permanently installed, but it would re-direct him away from the dangerous areas. I was told “it’s never a vacation with kids. It’s a trip!” haha and it’s true!
I’m really curious about this! Do you recall where you got the gates and/or recommend a specific brand? My son isn’t mobile yet but want to file away…sounds like a great idea!
Reading these has really encouraged me to start getting dressed in “real” clothes after switching to a fully WFH job last summer. Bonus is that I’m figuring out what I actually like in my closet versus just kept so I had a variety of office clothes!
“Lazy mom-day” is an oxymoron! 😉
Also I love the idea of hanging hats on the wall as decor. Did you just use nails or something else?
