We’re going down to Tampa to visit my parents– fingers crossed for easy breezy flying! Above being tired from the actual travel, the one thing that drains me the most is packing. I don’t know why I find it so overwhelming, but I do. Spring weather can be tricky to pack so having a packing list to reference helps a lot! I pulled together a simple guide with a handful of staples you can mix and match for any upcoming spring travel. Use this guide as a base to help you get started with what to pack for a spring vacation.
Spring Vacation Packing Tips
Pick a Color Palette
Sticking to a color palette and choosing a couple of patterns and prints makes mixing and matching your outfits easier and helps with the packing process. You can’t go wrong with a mix of blue, white, and striped pieces!
Pack Layers
Spring weather can be unpredictable, so it’s a good idea to pack layering pieces. Lightweight cardigan sweaters are one of my packing staples since they’re perfect for tossing over a dress or wearing with a t-shirt and jeans. You’ll also want to pack a mix of short-sleeved and long-sleeved tops like this breezy blue button-up and this simple white smocked top.
Pack Basics
Pack basics you can dress up or down, like flowy dresses and your favorite jeans. When it comes to shoes, bring comfortable walking shoes and a pair of sandals or flats for dressier occasions.
Pack for the Occasion
Remember to consider what you have planned for your vacation. For example, pack a dressier outfit for dinners like this midi slip dress paired with wedges and a basket bag. Or bring an activewear set to wear on morning walks. And don’t forget a swimsuit and a breezy cover-up for pool/beach days.

Packing a “travel capsule” is kind of my jam. This one is great – I’m thinking it could just be my wardrobe to take me through to Summer!
We had our spring break not too long ago and I hear you regarding packing. The weather definitely was all over the map which really made it way harder than it was to know what to bring! But I love your tips and for us, I always plan based on activity. Plus, since we don’t go out often on day to day, I make sure to pack a dressier outfit than just jeans!
