📌 Save this post! Can’t get over the MAGIC that is @backtonature.nj’s Christmas Market during the holidays! 🎄🌟🎅🏻🧣The decor this year is on a new level. If you need to get into the holiday spirit (or pick up speciality gifts or more decorations for your home), 100% recommend making the drive! It’s worth it ❄️

When you don’t actually feel cute but then kind of end up feeling cute because you put a bow in your hair, slipped into a dress that fits, and swiped on your favorite red lipstick 💋 @hillhouse @annmashburn 🎥 by @carterfish, maybe I’ll post the video without music so you can hear her hyping me up, because you can’t imagine the crowd the bore witness to the making of this Reel 🫣

And then there were three ❤️❄️🎄🌟⛸️ Needlepoint stockings are a huge undertaking… they take hours (and hours and hours) of stitching. The final results are more than worth the effort though. These will hang on our mantle every Christmas and I can’t think of anything more special than that. I finished Mike’s stocking at the end of the summer after stitching almost every night for seven months. I am taking a little break and then I’ll start on the baby’s stocking for next Christmas!! 🥹

FROM THE ARCHIVES ❄️⛸️🌲some of my past favorite winter looks mostly because I miss real pants and being able to button my coats

This tree feels extra special this year. 🎄💫⛸️❤️🕯️ Jack is fully embracing the magic of Christmas (“kiss miss”) and his enthusiasm is downright contagious!
Not one of my best qualities, but I typically feel immense pressure trying to make things feel extra special and perfect and then I get disappointed when the reality doesn’t live up to my (unrealistic) expectations. I wish I could blame social media for this.... but I know the call is coming from inside the house.
This tree seems perfect to me, though, just the way it is. It was a true group effort getting it here. Another one of my not-so-great qualities is that I’m terrible at asking for help when I need it.... this year, I can’t ignore it though. I needed help, and a lot of it. Mike got every holiday storage box up from the basement (no small feat) and hoisted the into the house and got it up in the stand within minutes (then redid it twice to get the angle of the tree just so); my mom and I took multiple trips to the hardware store and drug store for the “right” colored lights (in case you’re wondering, “bright white” is warm yellow and “warm white” is actually bright white... make it make sense); my mom wrapped the tree in lights a second time when we learned the hard way that when the box says you can’t plug in more than five strands together they mean it; and Jack was there to help and hype us all up to say how “boo-full” the tree and lights are– and keeping us in line by scolding and reminding us that we aren’t allowed to touch the ornaments 🤭
I feel a little pang of sadness that we aren’t celebrating a first Christmas with a baby who was supposed to be here, while also struggling through a third trimester (just feeling physically tired and exhausted), while also cherishing our last Christmas as a family of three, while also getting excited knowing our baby will be here before we know it. Sure, it’s a lot of pressure to put on one single tree, yet here I am. ⭐️

Spent the weekend decking the halls 🎄 the garland is up, the tree is up, the wreaths are up! Fueled by three peppermint mochas, one bag of Milanos peppermint slices, one batch of chocolate chip cookies, and one loaf of zucchini bread… my mom and I got it done 🙏🏻

I bought a pair of Ann Taylor Perfect Pumps at a local Factory Store for a steal – they are originally like $200 and I think mine ended up being around $25 after a sale and another discount. They've figured into my formal and professional attire really well! I need to pick up a nude pair next. If you're hunting, go during major sales (Memorial Day, the Fourth, Labor Day, etc)!
I love all of these! I am looking into getting a nice pair of black ballet flats and I really like the simple asos ones you pictured! Other than that, I usually opt for a heel when I have I go to business meetings/presentations. I own a pair from white house black market that I just love 🙂

I ended up buying the black Kate Spade Dijon pumps and they are absolutely amazing!! I am not a heel person to begin with, but wanted the extra height for job interviews and other dressier events. These could not be more perfect and I'm not worried about toppling over when I wear them since the heel is thicker. The signature Kate Spade bow is the best little touch and a great conversation starter! I have met so many other Kate Spade lovers just buy wearing them.
Love the Nine West pumps, I'm dying for a pair of nude pumps and these are perfect!

I was just looking for a new pair of pumps for school presentations/job interviews. Thank you!
I absolutely adore those Kate Spade shoes! They're gorgeous.

Thank you for this!! B & I both work in pretty casual work environments (which is amazing), but there definitely are those days where I feel like dressing a little more professional. We've been searching for new work shoes, and I love these! Faves: Nala by Coach & Kenedy by Banana Republic.

Great selection of shoes! I bought a pair of L K Bennett black kitten heels with bows (very Kate Spade!) with what seemed like a huge part of my first pay check…it was totally worth it though, as I'm still wearing them 7 years later! I definitely think it's worth spending a bit more to get something that'll last. K x

All those shoes are adorable! I wish I had the confidence to walk in heels during an interview. I'm such a klutz; I always wear flats!
I'm normally not concerned about what shoes to wear. I'm normally concerned about how to do my hair!! Do I wear it down, up, curl it?! I never know!
The Jessica Simpson Oscar Pumps ($60 from DSW) are the BEST!! I have nude and black and they come in probably 20 colors. The heel height is perfect and my favorite part is that they're rubber soled so they're a bit more comfy and less slippery.

I couldn't get my size in nude anywhere in Boston or online, so I had a friend in San Francisco buy them and mail them to me. That's how badly I wanted them.
I am so uncoordinated, I always wear flats to an interview. I think the most important thing is to be comfortable and confident…two things I could never be in big heels haha! I do love those Sloane pumps though….

Naturally, I'd be obsessed with J. Crew's Sloane. I love their pumps and the toe-color!

Having a huge crush on the Coach heels! And Tory Burch is always a go-to!

Ooh, I really want those Ivanka Trump heels for mock trial now! My go-tos are usually my Revas!
Fun fact: I'm actually wearing those Nala pumps right now!!! I have them in mint patent leather and adore them! Enough of a heel that I feel like a lady but I'm fine spending all day chasing after my boss!
No J.Crew Etta pumps? I'm shocked, Carly!!!
great post! I'm heading back to work in a week after 15 months of mat leave and these pretty shoes are calling my name!

I think it depends a great deal on the occupational field. The patterened pumps are somewhat risky for an interview for say finance. At least that's what I would advise my students when I worked at a business school.
I absolutely love the Banana Republic ones! Might go have to search them out!

I usually wear flats, but I really want a pair of pumps by the company that Nike owns.
