Spring Forward

I know that some people aren’t into the springing forward of the clocks, but personally, I LOVE it. I hate when it gets dark early. It makes me hungry and tired. And in a city where the sun sets when it’s behind skyscrapers and not the horizon, it can get really dark, really early. (Remember back in November/December when it would get dark at, like, 3:45?!)
I will gladly sacrifice an hour of sleep in the morning if that means it will be sunnier later into the night!
I’ve almost always worn watches. My first one was a purple and pink Timex watch that– I can’t believe it– they still make. I wore that thing every day. And then in middle school, I started wearing digital watches, you know, to time math league practice tests. In high school, I had a permanent tan line from my watch because I’d wear it to crew practices. My “collection” of watches really grew throughout college, but recently, I’ve fallen out of the habit of wearing one!

Those watches are gorgeous! My husband bought me a silver watch from Coach for Christmas four years ago that I still wear every day (unless I'm at work, then I wear an easy-to-clean Timex one). I love the look of a nice watch!

I agree. I love springing forward because it means winter is almost over! haha. I love the tortoiseshell watch and I totally have a similar double strap one. It's a michael kors one but I love it! 🙂

spring forward

How did you fare in the spring forward?
I was having a weird semi-stressful Saturday. (When did weekends become so crazy?) I got in bed extra early with a new book and just relaxed. I have to say, it was kind of perfect.
Because I went to bed so early, I didn’t feel any different in terms of waking up! I actually forgot that the clocks had changed at all… I love that cell phones automatically reset. Now, I have to admit, I will always be thinking, “Oh, it’s actually like 9am…” for about a week. It’s a horrible habit!
This is one of my favorite quotations and I think it’s a great reminder on a day like today:
Lost time is never found again.” – Benjamin Franklin
How are you spending the day?

PS How amazing is that pink Kate Spade watch?

Hate the spring forward. Today I actually said to my husband and he responded in kind how we both felt as if we actually lost some hours.

I always think that too! I was sitting here earlier thinking oh it isn't that late it is only 11! I hate daylight savings time, I don't think we need it anymore.

I hate losing the hour, but look forward to the evening daylight. I, too, will refer to the "it's really THIS time" for the next week or so.

When the time changes, I always stay up just to watch the clock jump forward or back an hour — always thought it was the coolest thing that iPhones do that. I'm so happy that this means the days will be longer and the sun will stay up later! It means summer isn't far away.
