I hope everyone is having a wonderful time today. I just wanted to pop over here today and express how grateful I am for you. I was in such a dark place when I started my blog almost seven years ago. Never in a million years would I have guessed what it would help me break through those hard times.
I’m thankful for everyone who comes here to read along and share in this journey with me!

I’m thankful for a lot this year… and you are included in that! (I definitely don’t say it often enough.)
Thanksgiving is always a major “turning point” in the year. It’s not quite the end of the year, but you really realize that the year is winding down so there’s a last ditch effort to wrap things up nicely. My freshman year of college wasn’t the greatest and I almost didn’t make it to the end of the year. There was something really good about Thanksgiving break that year. I think being home and seeing my friends and family again was just enough to make me realize I had a great support system. And most importantly, that I felt confident to go back to school and finish out the semester. Little did I know that about a month later I would write my first blog post and catapult myself on a new, long journey!
There are too many amazing things about blogging to count, but one of the best is getting to know you guys. Whether it’s connecting in a comment or over an email exchange or through Instagrams and Tweets or even getting to meet in person at an event… it is simply the best. I feel like you all are a huge support system out there and I am quite thankful for each and every one of you! I feel so lucky to get to know girls from all over the world through this little corner of the internet. 
Not only that, but I’m also really thankful that you make my dream job a reality. When it’s just me and my computer, it can be a challenge to remember that there are actual people on the other side of the internet connection. That’s why I love hosting meet & greets and getting to put faces to names (and avatars/handles) and why I click over to Instagram accounts and blog URLS when someone comments and why I really love receiving emails from readers. It makes me feel pretty loved and not so quite alone. I mean, I feel like I can share creepy things about myself like that time I dreamed about Taylor Swift or blubber on about my biggest insecurities because I feel like we’re friends… whether or not we’ve met in person!

Hey Carly! I just wanted to say "Thank You" to you. I know that sounds a little cliche but honestly reading your blog has helped me a lot these past years as well. I had always loved fashion and writing but the thought of putting the two together was never something I knew could be done. The idea of creating a blog seemed so "typical" because everyone was doing it but after reading yours for years I finally took the plunge one day because I realized if I just wrote about what I liked it wouldn't matter. My blog has become a serious creative outlet and an emotional one these past few years I have your open attitude and positivity to thank for that! I hope you enjoy the holiday with your family 🙂

Have you sent out your Thank You notes after Christmas (or Hanukkah)?  It’s okay, I won’t tell on you if you haven’t yet!!!
But now is most definitely the time!!!  I always go to a local stationery store to pick up a pack or two.  This year I went with grey + yellow chevron.  Kind of obsessed.
Obviously, Kate Spade.  Say “Thank You” in a super festive manner!
how KIND of you… I love the message, the simplicity, and the color of this notecard.  I would probably frame it if someone sent it to me!  It’s a nice little reminder to be kind 🙂
I am in love with this font and the simple, yet somehow simultaneously intricate, design.  Paper Source is a great source for, well, paper.  We have a store right on M St. in DC and I spend way too much time poring over the various odds and ends on the tables.

This is also from the Paper Source, but I think this could easily be a hand-made DIY project.  Instead of using an ink pad for stamps, opt for paint!
Have you written Thank You notes?  Where’d you pick up your cards from?

Thank you for reminding me to do mine! I saw cute notecards in TJ Maxx for cheap. They had a cute pattern but no message so they would work for anything. I think I'll stop by and grab those.

I really like the Kate Spade ones! Like Grace, I've gotten mine from Target in the past (super cute selection). Also, TJ Maxx has some Lilly ones every now and then – definitely darling.

First, I want to thank everybody for their wonderful comments regarding my new design. I really can’t tell you just how much I appreciate the feedback. I’d also like to thank Emily June. I’m so grateful that I got to work with her…I have been opening up my blog just to stare at it!

Second, I’m so excited about everyone’s feedback about Confessions of a College Prepster. I’m really looking forward to developing the character of Adelaide. I’m going into this pretty blindly, I have no idea where it could go! Some things you can definitely expect:

  • Adelaide is certainly going to have some growing up to do once she starts school. I was a bit young and naive when first going to Georgetown, and I’m planning on Adelaide having a similar growing period that I experienced.
  • Boys will definitely be involved. Emphasis on the plural.
  • Because I don’t know much about sororities (actually, I know next to nothing)… Fitzgerald College will not have a Greek system. However, I think I want Adelaide to join the rowing team as a novice coxswain.
The rest is pretty much in the air. Please, please, please don’t hesitate to comment on the Day 0 post with any suggestions, criticisms, etc. If you’re worried that I might get upset (I promise I won’t though!) make your comment anonymous. I really am interested in what you have to say!

I'm with you on another new adventure featuring Adelaide!!! I was known to do the belles, Suzabelle, Anabelle,Clarabelle etc. You know, with your love of writing and artistic ability…think about writing and illustating children's books. Not much of interest to college students but you have many followers who are no longer students (me included by a long shot)
