BEDROOM DESIGN IDEAS

We’ve been in our house for two and a half years (how?!?!) and I’m starting to get the itch to make some changes. Major changes, but not necessarily renovations. I think a big thing was doing Jack’s nursery. It was more fun than I expected and I really like how it looks…. but it’s making everything else feel a little lackluster. I’ve been chipping away at home projects, and I really do think that’s the best way to do things. Instagram and HGTV shows make it seem like you move into a house, snap your fingers and bam you have a fully, perfectly decorated home. I have a laundry list of changes I want to make, but one of the first places I want to start is our primary bedroom. I like what we have, but I don’t love it. Our home was built in the 30s so there are some serious quirks to how it’s laid out, our bedroom included. It has a funny shape and I haven’t been able to get it just right…. pulling some bedroom design ideas as I’m hoping to work with a local designer I met a couple of years ago at a conference! I know what I like but not quite how to execute it, so hopefully we’ll be all squared away soon.

Right now our room is pretty neutral, which I really do love. But I think I am craving a little bit of color and more texture. I’d love to incorporate more green, possibly a little bit of floral, and just overall a vibe that’s a bit more intentional. We’ll see what direction we end up going in– I’m looking forward to it regardless!! Here’s what I’m thinking so far.

I feel the same for my bedroom, I m sick of the greys and I think it needs a little 2022 update. The photos are really inspiring, I also like Samantha Varvel’s house inspiration in the same kind of vibe.
I can’t wait to see more of your “renovations”

Your inspiration photos are so gorgeous, thank you for sharing these! I love all the different prints, especially those upholstered headboards. Can’t wait to see what you choose to do! Would love to get some insight on your design process & sourcing- I always feel so unsure about interior design.

We got our house almost 6 years ago and have been renovating it ourselves from day one.. while the big things are done, we now need to focus on the smaller things. I also think that being stuck at home for almost 2 years makes us all want to change a few things around. I am excited to see what you do with your bedroom.

I love all these inspo pics! I had to be *super* annoying, but am still wondering if you have a link to to the bowls you always make homemade salads in. 🙂

I can’t believe it’s already been 2.5 years since ya’ll moved in! I am so excited to see what you come up with, the next to last photo has such nice warmth!

I LOVE the design with those wicker (sp?) lampshades! The wallpaper and wavy accent on the duvet are fun and add whimsy but it’s still so relaxing. It’s sophisticated but doesn’t take itself too seriously, it’s perfect to me.

Oops, the comment area is always so funky on my iPad and hard to edit, know which box is which!
