Book Club Review + New Book Selection

What did you guys think about The Proper Care and Maintenance of Friendship?
As I mentioned earlier, I read it in one day!  I loved the overlapping story lines.  It was fun to switch from each friends troubles across the world.
Isn’t it strange how one amazing friend can know so much about her friends?  Even more than they knew about themselves?  That’s what I found so remarkable about the book, and I definitely believe that sometimes we miss huge “red flags” about ourselves but a great friend can pick up on it right away!
Hopefully you guys enjoyed it too!  Link up your blog posts for TPCAMOF below!

Want to know what the NEXT book is?
I randomly picked it up in the library and LOVED it.
Names My Sisters Call Me

I’d be lying if I said I picked up for a reason other than the cover… but seriously, it’s a good cover.
And a good book.
I promise.

HAPPY READING!
xoxo
PS I’m on Good Reads now!  I have no idea how to add friends… but I will accept requests.  You can take a look at the books I’m reading 🙂
PPS Let me know what books you guys are reading this summer in a comment below!

I really enjoyed The Proper Care and Maintenance of Friendship too 🙂

I'm out of town at the moment but I'll write and post my review as soon as I get back home. In the meantime if you want to see what I've been reading hop on over to my brand new baby blog!

I just finished Ree Drummond's book 'Black Heels to Tractor Wheels' and would DEFINITELY recommend it! It's really sweet, a lot of fun and, most interesting from your point of view, it grew out of her own blog.

I really hope you've read "The Help"…best book I've read in a really long time…and the movie coming out later this summer is an added bonus! I also really enjoyed your recommendation of "The Ivy Chronicles." 🙂

Right now I'm reading "Suck Your Stomach In and Put Some Color On" by Shellie Rushing Tomlinson. Its is seriously laugh out loud fun, at least I think. However, I'm not completely positive that those who don't live in the South (I'm from North Carolina) would find it as funny as I do, but I LOVEEE it! Great, easy summer read. Disclaimer: maybe not so easy to read if you don't speak Southern ;]

I'm working on What to Listen for in Music by Aaron Copland. It's very interesting, and probably not what you'd read normally. It's a good overview of music in general.

I've read suck your stomach in as well and shellie rushing tomlinson is wonderful! I agree, if you aren't southern it may be difficult to understand.

On another note, for anyone looking for good summer reads I have two authors I recommend. For easier reads anything by Joshilyn Jackson is great. I love the girl who stopped swimming and also gods in Alabama especially. For more difficult novels anything from Pat Conroy is fantastic. Like Nicholas Sparks his books all have a common setting, they mostly take place in Charleston, South Carolina.
Happy summer reading!

I joined a book club at the beginning of the year and it is seriously one of the best things I've ever done. Not only did I meet a super nice bunch of girls, but we're reading such different things each month. So far we've read Water for Elephants, The Road, American Psycho, Middlesex, and we're currently on The Wind-Up Bird Chronicles. It's a good way to get me to read outside of my uni stuff, too – writing a thesis doesn't exactly allow for long lazy days. I've always LOVED reading, and this way it stays a priority!
