Clarisonic: A Game Changer

I love New York, don’t get me wrong. But it’s totally not the cleanest city. I try super hard not to touch anything, but it’s kind of inevitable. I cringe every morning when I grab hold of the bar in the train and try my hardest not to think of the hundreds of other hands that have touched it as well. Because I know I don’t live in a germ-free bubble (even though I think I would love to), I know my hands are covered in germs.
I try even harder not to touch my face! I know that’s always the tip they tell you in teeny bopper magazines and in the dermatologist office. I mean, transferring all those nasty germs onto my face…. blech! But I know I touch my face… I talk on my cell phone (and can only imagine what kinds of germs lurk on it), I put my elbows on the table and lean my chin on my hands.
Normally, when I’m coming home from work, it’s pretty late and the only thing I can think about the entire train ride home is washing my face.
I have the Clarisonic Mia and think that it’s the next best thing since sliced bread! Seriously, it’s like taking a trip to the spa… without having to go anywhere. I’ve had it for a while now, and I’ve never tried any of the other face brush things that have popped up on the market. But I can definitely tell you that I’m obsessed with the Clarisonic. It probably falls into the category of miracle workers.
Back in Tampa and even Georgetown, I would only use it every other day. I felt like using it too much irritated my skin. Now I use it every day, if not twice a day. (Just to get all the cityness out of my pores!)
I love the Mia and I think it does a great job, but I’m considering upgrading to the regular Clarisonic. Let me know what you think in a comment!
Nordstrom has really cute kits… because half the fun of the Clarisonic is how cute they are 😉

Do you use a Clarisonic?
xoxo

I've had the regular clarisonic for a few years now. I used to use it every day but was told by 2 aestheticians that I should only use it every other day or 2-3 times a week. They said it can cause over exfoliation which over time can cause damage. So just be careful how often you use it! I totally get the germs thing though. I've never tried the Mia so I don't know the major differences between the 2.

I've been using the clarasonic mia since June & my face looks and feels 110% better! I couldn't agree with you more. I love the smoothness my face constantly feels. I think upgrading now is great if you're looking for a little bit more, as the brush is bigger, plus comes with a great charging cradle!

I have the full sized Clarisonic and it works wonders. Definitely better than the MIA, and the body brush attachment is amazing too! Great with Cetaphil–I'm not a fan of the Clarisonic Cleansers.

I love my Clarisonic Mia! I have always had problem skin. As a teenager it was a nightmare. Even now that I'm in my early twenties my skin still gives me problems, but I love love love my clarisonic. It makes my skin feel so fresh and clean. It's the perfect pick-me-up! I love all the cute options from Nordstrom, mine is just light pink, but the patterns are so fun!

I LOVE my Clarisonic. I even took it camping! I've had the Clarisonic Classic (the pink one) for 4 years. I've used it religiously and if I take a few days off, I can tell. It really helps keep my skin clear and soft. I get compliments on my skin all the time. I think it helps my makeup look smoother too. I have nothing negative to say about it at all! It's a dream machine.

As for whether you should get the regular one or not, I think you should stick with your Mia. They're pretty expensive (though their cost per use is really good…I'm down to 18 cents per use haha, yes, I just calculated that) and you really don't need all the extra features/brush heads.

I couldn't agree more! My Clarisonic has CHANGED my life…well at least my skin. After 2 years in DC, and after trying numerous different types of cleansers, I finally broke down and got one. My only regret is not getting one sooner.

I tried the Olay one and it wrecked my face. Eventually I will get around to getting a Clarisonic.

But I totally agree about not touching the poles. When ever I get off the train/to my destination, the first thing I do is wash my hands. UGH! One time my friend came to school and she had huge blotches on her face after she was touching the subway pole, and then her face. It was awful to say the least.

Definitely upgrade! It is the best skincare investment I have made, and it is great to try all the different solutions on offer before you commit to purchasing one of the full size face washes. I love using the Clarisonic Plus on my body to exfoliate, it is just the best product ever! 🙂

I actually have the CVS budget version and I'm really happy with it. Since I moved to the city the dirt definitely increased my breakouts so it feels nice to clean them out and exfoliate!

I also bring hand sanitizer everywhere too and keep a pump bottle of it on my desk at work!

I use a clarisonic mia as well and I love it! I just got it a few weeks ago and my skin looks so much better! I really want to to try the clarisonic made for the body! And new brush heads! Ooh, I just love it 🙂

I'm getting the Olay knock off, which is apparently the best knock off and it's only about $30 🙂 I can't stop hearing about the Clairsonic lately!

I was not in love with my Clairsonic Mia until I started using a delicate brush head. Before I couldn't use it every day because my face felt roughed up but now washing my face is the most relaxing soothing thing I do on a regular basis. I don't use the cleanser that came with it either.

The Clarisonic and the Mia use the same brush heads! You can seriously just buy almost every other brush head (I think the body brush won't work on the Mia, but that's the only one!) on ebay or Amazon for much cheaper than they are in Sephora! 🙂 I love my pink mia, but I don't use it as often as I'd like to… I travel a lot for work and try not to lug so much stuff with me but I've been trying to use it more frequently. If you want to give your skin a break but still gently exfoliate, I would suggest trying Olay Skin Clearing Cream Scrub. Seriously the only face wash I've stuck with through more than a few bottles! It is amazing on my super sensitive skin and my face doesn't feel dry or tight afterwards!

I've had the Mia for a little over a year now and its FANTASTIC. I actually got it because I was deployed and the desert environment was disgusting and making my skin awful! (Iraq is not the cleanest of nations) I love using it with Philosophy's Purity facewash. Perfect combination. Best place to get the replacement heads is on Amazon btw! Normally I can get a 2 pack for $25-$30!

I have the Classic Clarisonic and I love it, as well. One thing I will say about the designs on the sets at Nordstrom is to be careful of the print. I used to keep my Clarisonic brush side up, and I noticed that that Clarisonic logo on the front wore off a little bit. It used to really bug me, but I've just accepted now. I don't know if they use the same application process, but if they do I would be cautious of getting one of the fun ones because it would wear unevenly and be noticeable!

I have the Clarisonic Plus and I've never used the Mia, but it looks like the big difference is being able to change all the settings? I have sensitive skin so I really like being able to adjust the cycle length and intensity depending on what kind of cleanser I'm using and what my skin is acting like. I've always been jealous of how pretty the Mia is though!

I have very acne prone skin (still, in my mid 20s…) I feel like I've tried about everything that my dermatologist has to offer plus what I can buy over the counter. I hadn't tried Clarisonic yet and I've heard good things, so I finally ordered a Plus a few minutes ago! Here is a way to get a decent deal on it. You have to jump through a few hoops, but to me it's worth it considering it's almost $100 cheaper…
1) Go to MrRebates.com, make an account, and click through to SkinStore.com to get 10% cash back on your purchase(SkinStore is an authorized Clarisonic dealer)
2) Order the Plus in pink or white, as well as an extra sensitive skin brush head
3) They have a 115% price match guarantee (http://www.skinstore.com/price-protection-guarantee.aspx) so send an email requesting a price match to skin-etc.com who is offering the Plus and an extra brush head for $180

With the cash back plus price match, your total cost should be around $130! Thought this might help out someone on a budget 🙂

I've heard so many good things about the Mia that I've been dying to give it a try! What is the difference between the Mia and the regular Clarisonic?

The Mia does face only and not as many settings but I have it and its amaazing. I dont think it is worth paying the extra unless you have acne on other parts of your body. I have tried a lot of the brushes and the deep pore are my favorite (I have sensitive skin and my dermatologist recommended the Mia)
