DIARY No. 124

Here’s what we’ve been up to the last two weeks according to my camera roll!

Father and son playing a game at an arcade

We went to a giant indoor arcade with the boys, some of my in-laws, and two of our nieces one day because we were cold and miserable and needed to get out of our houses. . It was pure chaos, complete sensory overload, and absolute blast. I kind of want to go back without the kids 🤣. Jack loved the bumper cars and all the games where you could drive. Rory was loving the bright lights. And Mike and I played so many rounds of the basketball game. It was totally unexpected and the perfect afternoon adventure.

Mike, Jack, and Rory getting ready to blow out birthday candles

We celebrated Mike’s birthday with a big blackout cake from Bakehouse. So delicious! I also got a lot of questions about the candle holders. We received them for a wedding gift and I thought they were such a great idea, I’ve actually “stolen” the idea for myself and gift it for special occasions like engagement parties and housewarming gifts now.

White Lake Pajamas with hearts on a bed

Valentine’s Day PJS for me courtesy of Lake Pajamas. I’ve been wearing them so much and just love the punchy hearts.

An Inslee calendar on top of a desk

I get an Inslee calendar every year and the way it sparks joy for me every time I see it!

A bowl of stovetop popcorn on a lap

Mike and I have been indulging in a big bowl of stovetop popcorn almost every night. I can’t explain it but the way it’s maybe single handedly getting me through the winter months. Mike has been perfecting his methods and I’m going to try to convince him to do a Reel for my Instagram story!

A toddler wearing an Eagles sweatsuit

Never thought I’d be a mom buying heavily branded sports gear yet here we are! I surprised Jack with this sweatsuit and he was in heaven. Wore it for three days straight… yolo. It’s so cute. Go birds!

A couple walking carrying colorful shopping bags

Mike and I took the last hour of the day last week to go out for a quick “date.” And by date I mean, running an errand together and grabbing a cup of coffee. A nice way to connect and reset after a long week and before a crazy weekend!

Soto Method Sweatshirt and hand weights on the floor of a gym

Hallelujah my body has been healthy enough for real workouts. I have been struggling big time with wrist pain, foot pain, and various illnesses. It feels amazing to move my body again in a significant way. Nothing better than waking up with a “hurts so good” kind of muscle soreness.

A Baby at a little gym gymnastics class

Rory is loving his gymnastics class! He moved up to the next level 😭 As he approaches one and starts walking, this is when I switch the boys’ wardrobes over too. From onesies and leggings to shirts and “real” pants. They’re still soft and cozy though!

Mahjong tiles on a table

The way I’m hooked on mahjong! I’ve been having so much fun playing and it’s been a nice way to meet up with friends and keep our brains sharp. My grandma plays every week still and she’s sharp as a tack, so I’m taking her lead!

A pink marbled chic toothbrush

The chicest toothbrush of all time. I’m taking my own advice and not “saving it” for a special occasion (why do I do this?!) and I immediately opened it and replaced my old toothbrush with it. Absolutely obsessed and it sparks joy every morning and evening!

Carly wearing a hot pink sweater and colorful beaded necklace

Every time I wear a bright color, I feel so much better. Need more of it in my closet! (Here’s my outfit!)

Breakfast for dinner

Mike was in the city for work and I decided to do breakfast for dinner with the boys. Let me tell you, it was a HUGE hit! Jack thought it was so funny. “Waffles and cereal right now? This is SO FUN! Mama you’re the best!”
