DIARY No. 50

Crazy that this is already the fiftieth Diary post. They’ve turned into some of my favorites to write… and to personally go back and revisit for the memories.

DIARY No.50

DIARY No.50

We had a nice Valentine’s Day at home! We usually don’t do anything, but because we’re at home we thought it would be fun to do something. A local restaurant nearby was having a take-home Valentine’s Day dinner for two. It was a lot of food. Very good but it was also over the top– fun for a special occasion!

Another picture of the viral TikTok pasta, ha!!

Honestly I wanted to hate it, but it was delicious. I didn’t have enough tomatoes and I could only find one (wrong) kind of feta and it still was a winner. So I am going to try it again soon. I loved having it for leftovers and lunch. It yielded quite a lot!

got all my tax forms uploaded

Okay I finally (FINALLY!) got all my tax forms uploaded…. it had been on my to-do list forever and I was pretty delinquent. Kept procrastinating because I thought it was going to take forever. I used to scan with my printer, but started just scanning PDFs directly in my Dropbox app with my phone and saving it to a folder right there. It is such a simple process. It works best if you have a dark table as the background. I scanned about 20 sheets (including renaming all the files) in under 15 minutes. Bam. Always feel a little silly putting off tasks that weigh me down but end up being so simple.

Just a cute picture of Teddy relaxing.

sliced bagel | DIARY No.50

Sometimes a girl just needs a bagel. I can’t wait for it to warm up so we can start walking back into town to get weekend bagels. (Well I should say, it’s more that I want above freezing temperatures because I’ve been terrified of icy sidewalks. It’s been so bad lately with all the melting and overnight re-freezing.)

sezane maternity jeans

Sezane recently started carrying a small collection of maternity items.

I bought a pair of the jeans and they just arrived. They are CUTE. They are incredibly stretchy and comfortable. 🙏🏻 Also a nice dark wash.

double masking

And here begins my “warm February day” series. Clearly, the sun and warmth brought out the best mood. I felt like a new woman. And I got a lot of questions about the mask– I made this one. I found a similar one on Etsy with the same fabric though if you’re interested!

Dog Ham made himself right at home in the warm sun

I opened all the doors and windows to let in some fresh air. Ham made himself right at home in the warm sun. It was so glorious.

salad with dressing

I also am finally craving greens again. It’s been such a long couple of months living off of bread. My mind, body, and stomach are eternally grateful to have some vegetables back in me. I’ve been dicing up whatever we have in the fridge and tossing with some greens in a big bowl with a little dressing. It has been such a nice, filling lunch!!

Sockerbit sour candy

And to keep perspective on the balance. I may be craving greens again, but I’m also craving sour candy. I placed an order from Sockerbit…. highly recommend, pregnant or not 😅.

Have you tried Thomas’ Everything Bagels? I buy them at my local supermarket here in San Francisco. I don’t know if you have them back East but they are to die for. Try them if you can — you’ll like them.

If your craving cucumbers here’s a simple but simply delicious Thai Cucumber and Red Onion Salad:
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup warm water
1/4 cup white vinegar
1 teaspoon salt
1 to 1-2 large sliced English (they’re the long ones) cucumbers — I remove the seeds
1/4 to 1/2 thinly sliced red onion
Combine dressing ingredients then add cucumbers and red onion, chill, eat, enjoy.

Tastes exactly like you have at your favorite Thai restaurant.

I am so, so guilty of putting off things that I know I need to do but that I think will be annoying/take too long/be difficult. It is NEVER as bad as I think it will be but I cannot quite get my mind to accept that beforehand.
