GIFT GUIDE FOR GUYS

Mike and I are not doing a gift exchange this year. Because of our wedding, we feel like we are fully gifted out for a while. It’s actually a bit of a relief because we really were graciously showered with gifts from friends and family. We also exchanged nice gifts before our wedding and I think that was more meaningful than Christmas gifts. This year is going to be vastly different in terms of holiday celebrations, so I think our plan will be to come up with new traditions for our first married Christmas instead of gift exchanges.

Sharing some fun gift ideas for the guys in your life. Frankly, I want a few of these for myself, ha!

PATAGONIA FLEECE VEST // FOLD UP BACKPACK // MONOGRAMMED BEER MUGS // THERAGUN MINI

I think anything on the list would make a great gift for most guys.

But wanted to especially highlight a few favorites. Starting with the mini Theragun! We have the full size Theragun (Mike actually got it for me for Christmas a couple of years ago) and we both are obsessed. I love the idea of a mini, pocket-sized version too… I want it! And I gave Mike a couple of Yetis last year for his birthday and they were a massive hit. And my dad got Mike this smart wireless meat thermometer recently and it’s genius. It allows you to monitor whatever you’re grilling right from your phone so you don’t have to be glued to the grill.

Speaking of grilling, we are on a big pizza kick right now. Perfecting the grilled pizza is Mike’s “winter project” and I bought him this book, just for fun! And, would it be a gift guide from me if I didn’t include the Breville espresso maker we have and love? It’s a gift I purchased for myself for my birthday last year and we are ob-sessed with it. Especially during the pandemic, we have looooved having access to our own espresso maker. Also worth noting: Breville released a more affordable model that has all the same main features as the Plus version (I believe the main difference is that the non-plus does not have automatic milk frothing).

My husband and I got married in November a few years ago and felt very gifted-out by Christmas. We started a nice tradition though of buying each other a book to read over the holidays. It’s now a gift that I look forward to every year! Wanted to share in case it inspired you to do something similar with Mike 🙂

Hi Carly,
I look forward to your gifts for him list because I use it for ideas for my sons. Great ideas this year! Question though on the Yeti, which I see often, what makes them so expensive? They are cute, but is there something in their functionality that makes them better? I have a camper and a beach going son, so coolers would be perfect!
Thanks!

I think it’s partially the brand but also because of the design/features of the cooler that are like next-level!

I bought one for my son just now. It came in navy, so I basically had to do it! Thanks for the idea.

Yeti’s are basically indestructible. I’ve seen how they’ve survived fires, but they were designed to last for years in rugged conditions. They supposedly can survive a grizzly attack lol I think for someone who does a lot of outdoor activities and would use it often, definitely worth it!

Hey Krista – Yeti coolers are top of the line. They certainly have gotten more expensive as their name has become more well-known, but even when they were a brand new company, they were pricey. I have a Roadie, and it’s the BEST cooler I have ever owned. I sometimes don’t even have to put ice in it if the things are frozen because they’ll keep themselves cool with the insulation. That being said, they are heavy when empty, so extra heavy when fully packed. Keep that in mind if the plan is for them to be toted around. If that’s the goal, I might suggest the Yeti Hopper bag instead! You can’t go wrong because you really DO get what you pay for!

They also are amazing at keeping things cold for a long time. My sister used one at a party and filled it with ice and drinks, leaving it open. She closed it at the end of the party, still filled with ice. A week later, I went to dump it out to clean it (yes, we were still cleaning up a week later!) and IT WAS STILL ICE CUBES!
