Finding the Confidence to Go Makeup Free

This post is sponsored by Olay!

I am a huge fan of Olay’s Retinol24. It has been such a game-changer for my skin. I love that I now feel totally confident to go without makeup. It’s freeing! I haven’t always felt this way about my skin, especially as an adult. Having the confidence to not feel like I need to hide my skin feels just so, so good. Honestly, there have been times in my life where I want to hide my skin with lots of makeup before going in public or posting on Instagram. It took up a lot of space in my brain and it’s great to not even think twice about going out without makeup or posting on Instagram without makeup now.

I had been using the Olay Retinol24 for a while and loved the results, so when Olay reached out about their Retinol24 Max Moisturizer, I knew I had to try it. An even more potent formula of what I already love?! Count me in.

Olay Retinol24 Max Moisturizer Review

Olay took their Retinol24 formula and maxed it out to create the Retinol24 Max Moisturizer. It has 20% more of Olay’s unique Retinoid Complex. It takes skincare to the next level. The moisturizer is optimized for potency and skin penetration.

The moisturizer provides:

– 24 Hour Hydration

– 24 Hour Potency (Active on Skin for 24 Hours)

– Brighter & Smoother Skin as you wake up every morning

I am *obsessed* with the results.

I truly noticed a difference in my skin overnight, waking up that first morning feeling extra moisturized. And within a few weeks, I noticed a significant improvement in my skin’s evenness and also reduction of fine lines. I’ve been going makeup-free so much more (and as I mentioned feeling extra confident to do so!), but I also notice a huge difference when I do choose to wear makeup. I don’t have to use as much foundation since my skin is so hydrated and smooth and it goes on much more evenly since my makeup doesn’t have to “work” as much.

Retinol24 Max Moisturizer Review

Unlike other retinol products (which can cause irritation), Olay Retinol24 Max is formulated for everyday use so it’s a great option for people with sensitive skin.

Because retinol is light sensitive, it’s best to apply right before bed. Let the moisturizer do its thing overnight! Don’t forget to use a daily SPF during the day.

Thanks for sharing! Two questions:

1) what’s the smell, if any?
2) since this is stronger so you think it makes sense to start with their other formula?

1) It’s fragrance free! If you really put your nose into the jar you can smell a slight “cream” smell but you really have to try. When it’s on my face, I smell nothing.

2) You can still start with this! It’s also maxed out on moisturizer (which combats the drying effects of Retinol). I recommend starting once a week, with any retinol, and working up from there. I personally use it every other night!

I started using the Olay 24hr retinol night cream after seeing it in your instagram post and I seriously love it as well!

For everyday I wear 40 right now, but in the summer if I’m going to be outside in the sun (like at the beach/lake) I wear a hat + 70 or higher and apply multiple times throughout the day. I really try to keep the sun off my face all the time!

Love this post! Skincare is so important and I’m glad you’re vocal about promoting taking good care of your skin.

I would love to see a skincare routine post, like a day in the life of your skin, morning and night routines and anything in between!

I was using olay retinol 24 like it said, morning and evening. It broke my face out in a itchy rash. I stopped using it and used olay regenerist only. I plan to start using it every 2 or 3 nights to see how it does. Is there anything else I should do so I can start using it everyday?

Since you said it is light sensitive, is this something you only use at night? Instead of morning and night?

Yes, it’s a nighttime moisturizer, but lasts for 24 hours so you don’t need to apply it twice a day!

Hi Carly! Do you still use the Kiehl’s Cannabis Sativa oil? How do you fit this in with your other products? Thanks!

I’ve been using the Equilibria facial oil (but same idea). Oil goes in last in your routine to seal in the moisturizer!
