GUEST ROOM GLOW UP WITH SERENA & LILY

I never really did anything with our original guest room as I was kind of waiting to see if we’d have a baby soon to consider. I’m glad we waited for a couple of years, because I did end up changing my mind about which room I wanted to be the nursery. We did a whole switcheroo. Making the guest room into the nursery, turning my office into a proper guest room, and moving furniture around from room to room. It ended up being the most perfect solution, even better than I planned.

Even though the now-guest-room is the tiniest room in the house, it still comfortably fits a full size bed and a small desk (so I can still work there). Somehow it looks bigger with the full size bed than it did when there was a twin daybed. I don’t understand the sorcery, but I’m not going to question it.

This partnership with Serena and Lily came at the perfect time as a) the guest room needed a little zhushing since I was still using a hodgepodge of old bedding and b) we have family staying in our house while we’re away and I wanted it to look nice for them!

Serena and Lily is one of my favorite places for all things home decor. Especially since interiors are not my forte, I always appreciate that their collections look great together and can be mixed and matched for a cohesive look. Takes a lot of the guess work out of it and I know I’m going to end up with a final product I love.

Even better, Serena and Lily now lets you filter product by availability so you know when you can expect a ship date. This came in handy for us as I wanted to make sure I was ordering bedding that would be here before we left so our guests could fully enjoy the made up bed.

It’s crazy to me how the bedding alone transformed the space. It brought the whole room together. I’d had my eye on this scalloped sheet set and love how it looks with the quilted stripe accents. I love a simple and crisp set of white linens for a bed…. but there’s something so charming about the unexpected scalloped edge of the sheets, pillow cases, and duvet cover.

I mixed the cornflower blue of the sheets and duvet with the “Nantucket Stripe” shams and quilt. Normally I lean more into the navy, but liked the lighter blues for how they brightened up the room even more.

Also obsessed with this extra long lumbar pillow to tie the whole look together. Can you believe it has 44 mini tassels!? 11 on each corner!

Thank you Serena and Lily for partnering on today’s post!

I basically stalked the Marshalls website for a few weeks and was able to snag a pair of those exact wicker lamps. I went to lamp heaven! Room looks beautiful btw.
